MISiS: Standard solution for creating university applications on the SmartMarket platform

On January 25, 2022, Sberbank announced that students at the MISiS National Research Technological University created a universal application template for universities using tools on the SmartMarket platform . This standard solution will allow students or employees of any university to create their own application (smartap), available in mobile applications and devices where there are virtual assistants "Salute." To create a smartap, minimal programming skills are required: you only need to register on the SmartMarket website and use a special application template for universities.

Applications created using the template help you navigate the life of the university - for example, you can download a lesson schedule, a university building diagram, frequently asked questions, etc. A convenient and quick search will allow students to no longer look for schedule information on the site - it will be enough to simply ask Salute assistants for this in their voice. Smartap can remember the user and show his schedule in the future. In addition, the application provides the ability to send alerts that the lesson will begin soon.

Smartap, created by students of NITU MISiS, is already available on request: "Launch MISiS World" in the SberBank Online and Salyut mobile applications, as well as on Sber smart devices.

"We invited MISiS students to create a typical application template for Salute virtual assistants on the SmartMarket. Students coped with the task by using a wide range of tools available on our platform. Now any university can adapt this template and create an application in-house and at no additional cost. For this, the skills of students of IT specialties will be enough. Thanks to such applications, it will become much easier for students to navigate university life, " says Ivan Smirnov, head of SmartMarket in SberDevices.

MISIS University of Science and Technology connects fruitful cooperation with Sber, a high-tech Russian company that pays special attention to the development of digital skills and competencies among young people. In 2020, we entered into an agreement providing for the training of specialists in the field of IT, the creation of a service robotics laboratory on the basis of the university, and joint research. Students of the Department of Engineering Cybernetics at MISIS University are practiced in Sber units, during which they solve various problems - from creating control systems for robotic complexes based on AI to developing applications on the Sber platform - SmartMarket. Students take part in the project work, interacting with the engineering divisions of Sbera. One example is the joint development of MISIS World, which is a solution that expands students' access to the university's digital services.
