Belarus increased exports of agricultural products and food to the Russian Federation by more than 24% in 2022, this figure reached $6 billion.

2021: Record exports

The export of food and agricultural raw materials from Belarus at the end of 2021 amounted to $6.5 billion, which was a record figure for the country in its entire history. This was announced in February 2022 by the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MARCH) of the Republic Alexei Bogdanov.

At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus clarifies that in 2021 the country supplied food and agricultural raw materials abroad in the amount of $6.7 billion, which is 117.3% more than a year earlier.

Belarusian exports of food and agricultural raw materials in 2021 updated the record

According to him, over the past six years, the export of Belarusian food has increased by 44%, including due to its geographical diversification. Earlier it was reported that Belarus in 2020 it supplied agricultural products and food products abroad in the amount of more than $5.8 billion, which is 4.3% higher than in 2019.[1]

He also noted that by February 2022, Belarus supplies its products to 116 states, which also became a record figure. A year earlier, the export of Belarusian food was carried out to 82 countries, the minister said. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2021, exports Azerbaijan to grew by 14.2%, in - Kazakhstan by 11.5%, Kyrgyzstan - by 68.3%, in - Moldova by 27.5%, in - by Tajikistan 11.2%, Uzbekistan in - by 30.7%, in - by Ukraine 24.4%.

Products were delivered to non-CIS countries by 1.11 billion (+ 145.1%), including export growth:

  • in the countries of the European Union by 43.7% and amounted to $460.2 million;
  • in Asia and Oceania by 47.1%: $507.9 million. Including products exported to China in the amount of $366.1 million (an increase of 47.9%).
  • in the countries of America and the Caribbean by 42.1% and amounted to $11.6 million.
