2024: Axelot WMS Rollout
Thanks to the transition to AXELOT WMS, Bubl-Gum was able to implement new technological processes in the warehouse and increase the efficiency of the distribution center. Axelot (Axelot) announced this on December 4, 2024.
The objectives of the AXELOT WMS implementation project were:
- Automate in-house movement of goods and increase transparency of operations.
- Improve the control and traceability of PPEs to prevent shipment to stores of goods with unvalidated codes.
- Implement new technological approaches to product assembly (wave and cluster selection, shelf life control).
The project was implemented by AXELOT specialists. The typical functionality of AXELOT WMS turned out to be enough to cover most of the business processes. The project team also set up the system in order to take into account all the features of cargo turnover and fully automate the control of incoming and outgoing flows, as well as intra-warehouse operations.
AXELOT WMS has the ability to check the validity of the product marking code during acceptance and before final packaging. To perform a check when scanning the PPE, the system accesses an additional service of the corporate system. If the code is not valid, then it is postponed to the "basket" for further proceedings. AXELOT WMS automatically reconciles the actual and planned gates where the goods prepared for shipment are located. If the actual gate is different from the planned one, the system creates tasks to move the cargo items to the "correct" gate.
Orders are distributed to contractors depending on the product areas. The storekeeper collects several orders at the same time in his zone, then in the consolidation zone a batch of orders for one or more pallets is collected for sending to the store. At the same time, the division of goods into zones of the outlet is observed.
The implementation of AXELOT WMS was decided to be carried out in stages, zone by zone, by product groups, in order to minimize possible downtime and reduce the burden on employees. Thus, gradually all warehouse operations were transferred under the control of WMS with minimal influence on business processes.
While working on the project, the team from Bubl-Gum was very involved in the process and worked closely with AXELOT specialists. This not only had a positive impact on the implementation process due to the rapid response to questions from responsible employees, but also allowed the customer's project team to better understand the functionality of the system, get first-hand answers and understand the logic and principles of designing business processes in a new system for themselves.
The transition to AXELOT WMS allowed Bubl-Gum to increase the efficiency of the distribution center by modernizing logistics processes. Various selection technologies have been implemented, unproductive operations have been eliminated, the influence of the human factor has been reduced, the requirements of regulators have been taken into account - the work of the warehouse has become much more "transparent" and controlled.
