The Shumyach Art and Local Lore Museum (MBU "Shumyach Museum") was founded in 1991, its funds contain monuments of material and spiritual culture of the Shumyach Territory. The museum consists of two halls - art and local history. Local history expositions present objects of archeology found in the district, tools, clothes, household items, genuine photos and documentary materials related to the life and work of fellow countrymen.

The art hall exhibits paintings by the artist, Laureate of the USSR State Prize, Honored Art Worker of the RSFSR, native of the village of Kiryakinka, Shumyachsky District, Fyodor Savvich Shurpin. The museum also contains the autograph of the world famous science fiction writer, author of more than 500 books, a native of the village of Petrovichi, Shumyachsky District, Isaac Asimov.

At the new ElarSkan scanner, we plan to digitize a variety of exhibits from the museum's funds - photos, letters, rare documents, - said the director of the museum Olga Aleksandrovna Erokhova. - It is planned to maintain a museum catalog of digitized images of objects of applied creativity, embroidery.

ElarScan A2-400 will allow you to carefully and in high resolution scan various types of sewn and embroidered originals of the format to A2. The V-shaped cradle is adjustable to the desired format and degree of opening - 90, 120 or 180, allowing you to scan originals up to 15 cm thick and weighing up to 15 kg.

The museum notes that electronic copies of the exhibits will be used to register museum items in the State Catalog of the Museum Fund of the Russian Federation, as well as to provide visitors and in organizing museum work: excursions, exhibitions, booklets, museum lessons and events.
