2022: Implementation of Multimedia Equipment Management System

CTI, a provider of IT solutions and cloud services, announced on December 7, 2022 that it had implemented a multimedia equipment management system at the Boris Shchukin Theater Institute. The system is implemented on the basis of "Smart meeting rooms" from CTI - the company's own development, customized specifically for use in the educational process.

The Theater Institute holds both full-time and part-time studies, scientific conferences and creative meetings. Depending on the goals and objectives, the multimedia equipment operates in the following modes:

  • broadcast of a remote teacher's lecture when students are in the classroom;
  • broadcast of a lecture by a remote teacher when students are outside the audience - at home or in any other location;
  • The teacher and students are in the auditorium and there is a broadcast for remote students.

During the project, the CTI integrator specialists introduced cameras, microphones, temperature and air quality sensors into the audience. Command execution is monitored through the Wired Board controller. The 86-inch Newline interactive panel is used as the central display. AVONIC controlled video cameras are used to transmit video signal from students and teacher.

Hardware management is simple and intuitive. With the help of a physical button mounted in the table (this function is duplicated in the Qbic panel PC interface), the teacher turns on or off the entire system, controls the status of the microphone, changes the angle from video cameras, and adjusts the comfortable sound volume level. If necessary, the instructor can select an external video source from the computer or the built-in PC of the interactive panel.

Thanks to the smart home functions, the implemented control system allows you to maintain comfortable conditions in the audience. When conducting classes (and up to 10 can be held daily), the multifunctional sensor measures the temperature, humidity and CO2 level in the room. The obtained data is displayed on the Qbic panel PC with the corresponding illumination of the values, on the basis of which a decision is made to ventilate the room.

According to the results of the pilot project, the university plans to further scale the use of the system.

The ecosystem from CTI allows you to significantly increase the efficiency of using solutions for collaboration, while easily transforming for a wide variety of tasks. An example of this is a project at the Theater Institute, thanks to which the educational process enters a new stage of digitalization. Recording lectures and classes, broadcasting for remote students, online lectures from external invited speakers, working together with documents and much more allow you to get the highest quality education, "said Albert Islamov, Director of the CTI Communications Services Department.
