2022: Implementation of ITMan Discovery, BPMSoft and Software Catalog Subscription
GC Softline will help "" To Norilsk Nickel implement an advanced system Software Asset Management (). SAM The provider IT of solutions and services proposed to use a combination of three products for building the system - the service iTMan Discovery"Subscription to the catalog," ON as well as the low-code company's platform "." Lanit Omni BPMSoft The resulting combination of software components best solves client tasks. This was reported by Softline on February 3, 2023.
SAM technology can provide significant savings in the cost of purchasing and using software in the first year of use. The IT solution allows you to efficiently operate software products and is a critical tool for increasing business transparency and controlling IT costs.
At the first stage of the project, Norilsk Nickel, together with experts from Softline Group of Companies, implemented a western vendor solution at several production sites. This made it possible to receive up-to-date and up-to-date information on the software used online. The system made it possible to compare the use of licenses with the number and range of available licenses, confirm the license coverage, determine the number of necessary licenses taking into account the consumption forecast, and identify installed but not used software products.
Despite the departure in 2022 of a foreign vendor from, Russian market the implementation of the project continues. As part of the strategy to import substitution , the Norilsk Nickel project team carried out a great deal of work to analyze SAM class solutions available on the Russian market. As a result, the BPMSoft platform was chosen, supplemented by its own Softline Group of companies products - iTMan and the Software Catalog Subscription service (software library).
After analyzing the products available on the market, the company stopped developing its own solution using Softline software for discovery - iTMan. This solution collects data in real time and normalizes it thanks to artificial intelligence. By integrating iTMan with the Software Catalog Subscription service, the collected data on IT assets are identified, normalized and presented to the user in a convenient and understandable form. The software library includes a knowledge base developed by the team, which has no analogues on the Russian market. It contains an extensive catalog of software products with their classification by licensing type, application category, and license use rules. And finally, the BPMSoft platform provides visualization, configuration and automation of the software management process in the company. As a result, the customer will receive a product that will allow verification and license audits, as well as effectively manage the installed software. The joint plans include not only the implementation of the SAM system in the customer's branches, but also the implementation of the transition to another system in those departments of the company where the solution is used from the western vendor, explained Andrey Andreiko, head of production of the business consulting department at Softline Group of Companies.

As a result of this project, the company automates individual sub-processes of the license management process. Automation of sub-processes will minimize the time resources of specialists for manual software audit. License audit reports in the system will be generated online in various analytical sections and with the ability to generate and distribute reports on a schedule. The system will allow you to keep full-fledged organizational accounting of software, optimize the management of software assets, minimize licensing risks, and plan software purchases taking into account real use. Thanks to this, the company will be able to competently manage the license purity of this range of systems that appear during the import substitution period. Compliance of the company with the best practices in process management in terms of software assets will increase the transparency of accounting and control over licenses, added Sergey Sidorov, Head of Projects for Business Process Management Systems at Norilsk Nickel.
