Biography

Born September 12, 1969 in Krasnoyarsk.

In 1992 he graduated from the Faculty of General and Applied Physics of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology). In the last years of the institute, he began working at Bit Software as a commercial director.

In 1999, he was appointed CEO of ABBYY.

The main area of ​ ​ activity: marketing, management.

Main achievements: building a sales network for ABBYY FineReader and ABBYY Lingvo products in Russia and abroad, creating ABBYY offices in Ukraine, in the USA, Germany, Great Britain.

Leaving the post of CEO Abbyy

In January 2017, Abbyy announced the appointment of Ulf Persson as CEO of the company. Sergei Andreev, having left this post, remains a shareholder of Abbyy.

In the very near future, Sergey plans to relax. He has some ideas and plans, but so far he is not ready to talk about them, - said TAdviser in Abbyy.

The change of CEO is associated with the goals of the company for the next few years. Abbyy told TAdviser that each company has stages of development. Abbyy was founded by David Jan, under whose leadership the company became a promising startup. Then, 17 years ago, Abbyy was headed by Sergey Andreev, thanks to whose work today it is a stable international IT company.

A year and a half ago, Ulf Persson, being the chairman of the board of directors, initiated the development of a strategy for the development of the company, it was adopted by the board of directors. One of the main goals is to double revenue in the next few years. This is possible due to the strengthening of our position in international markets. CEO 1C International

In May 2017, Sergei Andreev, together with 1C, created a joint venture 1C International, which he also headed. The new company is engaged in the development and promotion of the 1C: Enterprise (1C:Enterprise) product group in foreign markets.
