2023: Axelot WMS X5 completed in Ural spare parts warehouse

AZ URAL, together with AXELOT, completed the AXELOT WMS X5 implementation project. The project team has implemented several improvements in order to automate extraordinary business processes. This was announced on May 2, 2023 by AXELOT.

Automobile URAL plant is Russian producer cargo a car and special passenger transport means. The line of the enterprise is represented by more than 250 modifications, more cars than 400 types special equipment and attachments are installed on the Ural platform. Sales of products are carried out through a service and sales network, which includes more than 30 dealerships and 150 service centers Russia in and others. countries Trucks are supplied and operated in more than 40. countries of the world

The history of the project began in 2020, when the management of the URAL automobile plant formed the tasks for the investment development of the enterprise. High-quality and timely fulfillment of orders is a priority when building any work at the automobile plant. Assessing the capabilities of previous spare parts warehouses and the speed of their work, a number of problems were identified. Therefore, the top managers of the plant decided to develop a project for creating a single, automated and functional warehouse complex of spare parts.

The modernization of warehouse logistics in the warehouse complex of spare parts of the URAL EP was carried out jointly with AXELOT. The introduction of AXELOT WMS X5 allowed not only to automate warehouse processes, but also to optimize them, reducing the time that employees spend on operations, as well as improving the quality, accuracy and transparency of product accounting. The area of the automated warehouse was 10,500 m ², and the number of SKUs was about 19,500. The joint project team managed to solve quite complex and specific tasks on processes because the directions of product sales in the warehouse complex are radically different (retail, wholesale, warranty, technical supervision, state contracts, etc.).

When the goods are put into the warehouse in WMS, the date is recorded, the controller, product characteristics, batch number and government contract number are determined. Also, during acceptance, goods are sorted based on compatibility rules. A separate zone is allocated for each controller in the warehouse and, in the case of changing the controller or changing the number of the state contract, WMS plans to move to another storage area. For products passing under the state contract, AXELOT WMS X5 is configured to select and complete by its unique identifier. The WMS creates a separate task queue for receiving high and heavy pallets. The system then determines a section for accommodating such goods based on the capacity parameters of the section. The selection of heavy products also passes through a separate picking zone.

During the selection and shipment of AXELOT, WMS X5 separately plans tasks for products that need packaging and for products that do not need packaging. WMS allows you to take into account both the characteristics of individual products and the entire order, which is very important if the order is volumetric or heavy and does not fit into one car. Such orders are planned by AXELOT WMS X5 for shipment from stock by several vehicles.

The project team solved the problem of integrating AXELOT WMS X5 with two enterprise information system databases using the DATAREON ESB service data bus. The company plans to continue cooperation on logistics audit, technological design and automation of warehouse logistics in the production departments of the plant and in the warehouses of the procurement directorate, which will help complete the construction of a single logistics loop of the enterprise.
