2023: Automation of warehouses in Voronezh and Tula
AGROECO Group of Companies together with AXELOT automated two warehouses during production in different cities - in Voronezh and Tula. The flexible parameterization of AXELOT WMS X5 allowed during the project to take into account all the features of cargo turnover and limit itself to the typical functionality of the system. This was announced on June 29, 2023 by AXELOT.
According to the company, together with AXELOT, AGROECO previously automated transportation processes by introducing AXELOT TMS X4. Continuing to work on optimizing the efficiency of logistics, the holding's management decided to automate the warehouse during production in Voronezh.
The automated warehouse works in shifts, the duration of one shift is 12 hours, from 8 am to 8 pm. The warehouse area is 2514 sq.m., the number of active nomenclature items is about 4,000. The main purpose of the warehouse is to supply the holding units with everything they need, from pens and pencils to veterinary products.
The territory of the warehouse is divided into four zones, each of them has its own gates through which the acceptance and shipment of different groups of goods is carried out:
- Zone No. 1 - for the "main" group of goods (office, clothing, products, etc.).
- Zone No. 2 - for goods from the "veterinary" group (medicines and veterinary accessories).
- Zone No. 3 - for goods from the "components" group (goods intended for further shipment to the production of feed).
- Zone No. 4 - for goods from the group "spare parts, tools and accessories."
Using AXELOT WMS X5 in warehouses, the accounting of goods in the context of PPE, serial numbers, batches and legal entities was automated. Since such accounting was not carried out before the implementation of the system, during the project all the goods in both warehouses were recalculated with the corresponding characteristics fixed.
On the WMS side, a mechanism for planning the selection of the volume of the vehicle in the flight is implemented. When planning flight orders, the system checks the selected or planned volume and capacity of the vehicle and, if there is not enough space, blocks selection planning. Thus, cases where more products are selected for one vehicle than it can accommodate at a time are excluded.
The shipment is carried out both on the flight and separately on orders. Tasks for moving goods on board are issued to employees after registering the arrival of the vehicle at the warehouse. The execution and control of the shipment is available only to the responsible employees of the relevant area (main product, veterinary medicine, components, spares). After the successful launch of AXELOT WMS X5 at a warehouse in Voronezh, the solution was almost immediately replicated at another warehouse of AGROECO product in Tula, whose area is 1,855 square meters. m.
With the help of AXELOT WMS X5, AGROECO Group of Companies can now plan and track warehouse operations, take into account PPE, serial numbers and batches of goods passing through the warehouse, and analyze statistics to optimize the economic efficiency of warehouse logistics in the context of various directions. AGROECO Group of Companies plans to replicate the solution to another warehouse with the support of AXELOT.
