2023:350 stores support food aid project
The project to provide food assistance in Kaliningrad was supported by 350 stores in the region. CSI announced this on June 14, 2023.
Since April 2022, a regional social program for supporting the population in terms of food assistance has become available in the Kaliningrad region. The essence of the program is social support for the population, which consists in payments for a certain category of citizens designated under the program (in particular, pensioners, large families). These payments can be spent on food in local retail chains. During the program, more than 50,000 people have already used benefits in stores that have become participants in the project.
The technological basis of the project was the Social Processing system developed by JSC Settlement Solutions (part of the Sberbank Group). The integration of the system with CSI's cash POSet Retail provided service to more than 90% of all social account payments in the region. Specialists of Settlement Solutions also integrated their processing system with other cash systems of participating retailers and, together with representatives of executive authorities, achieved 100% coverage of the program in all districts of the Kaliningrad region.
The Social Processing system provides control over the targeted spending of budget funds on social projects within the framework of an agreed list of goods in the region's retail chains. On the territory of the Kaliningrad region, citizens can purchase products within the amount allocated by the region using MIR bank cards of any banks - in SPAR, Victoria, Yu-Market stores (work on Set Retail) and other participating retail chains. You can buy any food products, including meat, fish, bread, dairy products, vegetables, etc. Support funds cannot be cashed or purchased on them alcohol and tobacco.
