2023: Implementation of the P7-Office document solution

The SBEI of the Novosibirsk Region "Regional Education Center" (children's art school) reported on July 28, 2023 on the introduction of a solution for working with documents "P7-Office," which completely closed the needs of the school in office software. Multiplatform helped out especially: even versions for mobile devices came in handy.

SBEI Novosibirsk region "Regional Center" is formations a children's art school in which they teach, to music painting, to game chess, teach sports disciplines. Children with disabilities are also trained here.

The question of finding alternative solutions to imported software arose before the "Regional Education Center" in late 2021 - early 2022. As an alternative to Microsoft, several office software packages were considered, for example, OpenOffice and LibreOffice and others. After testing various solutions, the organization made a choice in favor of P7-Office.

The "Regional Education Center" of the Novosibirsk Region chose desktop editors "P7-Office," since employees most often work with office documents on stationary computers.

What pleased and surprised most of all, of course, was the efficiency, responsiveness and support of the developers. When all legal issues were passed, documentary issues were closed when concluding contractual agreements, the P7-Office team immediately sent links to download the software product. The P7-Office team also provided all possible questions from our side and offered links to downloading distributions to all kinds of operating platforms at once. This is the license key for the product on all operating systems, said Viktor Grinevetsky, head of the information technology and information protection department of the SBEI NSO "Regional Education Center."

As of July 2023, schools are installed on most computers, operating system Windows but the institution has already equipped many jobs under the management of operating system Linux Alt-Education. In this case, the same license key is used for two different operating systems. Some school employees even use the "P7-Office" on mobile devices.

The implementation began with testing the product: it was important to study the capabilities of the software, its characteristics and requirements. Then "P7-Office" was installed on part of the jobs of employees.

It didn't take much away. time The process of installing, launching and activating the P7-Office product is simple and understandable even to an inexperienced user, stated the head of the IT department of the school.

Later, the solution gradually began to be installed on all computers of the school. Until the end of the academic year 2024, the school plans to completely switch to "P7-Office" on all work computers, including those used for distance learning, the organization provides children with disabilities and their teachers with computer and other equipment for training.

Locally, "P7-Office" has already been installed on 200 machines inside the institution, and about 150 machines for distance learning. By the end of the 2024 school year, "P7-Office" is planned to be installed on at least 700 school workstations.

For school staff, a convenient and understandable interface and the ability to export to PDF format were important.

Of course, users had questions, but they were related to the fact that the office suite, which is unknown to the user. Nevertheless, due to the fact that the interface in P7-Office is similar to well-known office solutions, employees - and we have 250 of them - quickly got used to it, and have been working fruitfully for six months, during which time we did not have any problems. noted Victor Grinevetsky.

The school was especially useful for the ability to sign documents with an electronic signature using CryptoPro, since employees of the administrative and economic part regularly use EDS in their work. Integration of P7-Office with Crypto-Pro software products was easy.

In general, the implementation process was mild. Employees solved many questions on their own. "P7-Office" is used by almost all teachers and students on remote mode. The plans are to try the server version of office software, which gives many opportunities.
