The united retail chain of bookstores "Chitai-Gorod - Bukvoed" begins the introduction of self-service cash desks. CSRs will appear in large stores and new points of sale. Crystal Service announced this on November 8, 2023.

The first self-service ticket offices were offered to customers in a renovated store in the Metropolis shopping center. The store was opened in July 2023: additional places of rest, a coffee zone, a separate zone for kids appeared in it. At the disposal of buyers - 3 cash desks with cashiers and 2 self-service cash desks CSI K, which were provided by CSI. As of November 2023, it is transferring the entire retail chain to cash POSet Retail.

For the first 2 months, an average of 25% of store checks made their way to CSR (a peak of 34% was before September 1). There are two goods in the buyer's average CSR basket, the purchase takes 1:02 minutes, most checks are made from 17 to 20 hours. The island showed a load of 49% of the planned value - and the store has every opportunity to increase the share of checks on CSR from 25% to 50%.

At all cash desks, the Chitai-Gorod loyalty program is supported. If a product with 18 + marking is scanned on the CSR, the cash desk will call an assistant to confirm the age. A deactivator is built into the cashier, which will help the buyer independently remove the anti-theft mark.

In the near future, self-service cash desks will appear in 8 more Chitai-Gorod stores.
