Within the framework of the national project "Safe High-Quality Roads" in the region, two stationary posts began to work in test mode, which automatically record the weight and size parameters of vehicles. Previously, only mobile control points were used for these purposes in the Kursk region.

Two posts were built in the area of ​ ​ metro station Svoboda and the village of Pryamitsino on the supporting roads of the region, which ensure the transport connectivity of the districts of the Kursk region. The routes of most freight carriers pass through these sections. Points are located at the following addresses:

• 38 OP RZ 38K-018 "Kursk-Ponyri" km 28 + 305 (in the area of ​ ​ Liberty metro);
• 38 OP Ministry of Health 38N-073 Dyakonovo-Starkovo-Sokolovka km 0 + 420 (in the area of ​ ​ Pryamitsyno).

According to various estimates, almost every third trucker drives with an advantage. At the same time, the overload is on average about 30 percent. Overloaded trucks destroy asphalt and create additional emergencies. With the help of APVGK points, we expect to prevent these problems: to maintain a high-quality road surface and improve safety, - said Roman Provotorov, director of the Kursk Region OCU "Center for Transport Services."

The work on the creation of APVGK points in the Kursk region was carried out by the company NPO "ITS." They lasted more than three months. Specialists repaired the roadways, mounted metal supports and weight measuring equipment, and set up the software. Special markings were also applied and barriers were installed to prevent drivers from driving around the checkpoint on the side of the road.

APVGK stations are equipped with a whole range of sensors. With their help, the total weight of the car, axial load and its dimensions are determined. The system operates completely in automatic mode and allows you to control two lanes in each direction.

The peculiarity of APVGK points is that to check trucks do not need to slow down and even more so stop. To determine the weight of the car, the system only needs a few milliseconds. Scanners and sensors record dimensions, and cameras - license plate and general view of the machine. The result of the check is immediately displayed on the scoreboard, which is installed at a small distance from the post, - said Vyacheslav Smirnov, General Director of the NGO Intelligent Technical Systems.

For the first three months, automatic weight and dimensional control points will operate in test mode. During this period, fines will not be issued to heavy truck drivers. After the posts of the APVGK are transferred to a full-fledged mode of operation, violators will begin to be brought to administrative responsibility. The fine for exceeding the permissible weight and size parameters for the owner of the vehicle ranges from 100 thousand to 400 thousand rubles.
