On January 9, 2024, AXELOT announced that Resource-Media had implemented AXELOT WMS to manage warehouse operations.

According to the company, the Resource-Media warehouse in Moscow processes many different goods, about 130,000 articles in total, for convenience, the storage area is divided into 12 sections-rooms, for certain groups of goods. The total area of ​ ​ the warehouse is 16,000 square meters. m.

The warehouse used WMS from AXELOT of the previous generation, but as the Resource-Media business is growing, the company's management decided to move to the next generation AXELOT WMS to ensure optimal performance and additional capabilities. Resource-Media management again contacted AXELOT, and the companies began a joint project to modernize warehouse logistics.

In AXELOT WMS, you have set up compatibility conditions that define the rules for mixing goods from different sections when you perform putaway. In this case, the system operates with various criteria by which it is possible to combine the item in the storage and selection places, and using a special hint informs employees about the admissibility of a particular action.

In order to control the weight and size characteristics of all goods delivered to the warehouse, when accepting an article that does not have at least one parameter (width, depth or height), a request for data entering dimensions is displayed at the terminal.

The list of serial numbers is loaded from the CIS to the AXELOT WMS as part of the Expected Receipt document to account for the serial numbers of the received item. Each brand has its own template for entering serial numbers, while the template takes into account three different input methods: for an entire storage location, for packaging and for a separate storage object.

AXELOT WMS plans operations in the warehouse, taking into account the division into sections and the roles of personnel inside each room. Also, in the Resource-Media warehouse, transit zones exist for placement. Resource-Media managed to implement all these factors and features of warehouse business processes within the framework of the standard functionality of the system. One of the important tasks of the project is the inclusion of AXELOT WMS in the integration loop of the enterprise. The project team used DATAREON ESB to set up integration. The data bus allows real-time data transfer between the WMS and the Resource-Media corporate information system, which is a prerequisite for business continuity.

During the packaging of the selected article at the data collection terminal, different scenarios for entering the serial number are used. If an entire storage location is selected, then the serial number is recorded for the entire product in it, if several individual goods are selected and packed, then the serial number is entered by the number of packaged goods, if one product is selected, its serial number is entered accordingly. All entered serial numbers in AXELOT WMS are recorded in the document "Shipment Order" and transferred to the corporate system at the end of packing the entire order.

All project tasks were completed, the company warehouse was upgraded along with the transition to the next generation of WMS, and the AXELOT solution still ensures the quality of tasks. The positive effects of the transition to the fifth generation AXELOT WMS became visible immediately after launch. In particular, the company received universal tools for analysis - monitoring the situation in the warehouse, problems with orders, etc. Resource-Media has a flexible mechanism for planning the placement of goods.
