2024: Launch of Russia's first medical train

and in Ministry of Health Russia Russian Railways (RZD) early August 2024, the country's first medical train called St. Panteleimon was launched. This mobile clinical and diagnostic center is designed to provide professional medical care to residents of hard-to-reach regions of Russia. The grand opening of the train took place in the presence of the Minister of the health care Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko and the General Director of Russian Railways. Oleg Belozerov

According to the press service of Russian Railways, St. Panteleimon will run through eight constituent entities of Russia, including the Republic of Buryatia, Sakha (Yakutia), Trans-Baikal, Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territories, Amur, Irkutsk and Jewish Autonomous Regions. The train consists of 14 carriages, of which 8 are for medical purposes and 6 are for ancillary functions such as staff accommodation, headquarters, showers, power station and restaurant.

Ministry of Health and Russian Railways launched the first medical train in Russia

Mikhail Murashko noted that the St. Panteleimon train is equipped with unique medical devices, which allows for high-quality laboratory and functional research. The project has high social significance for local residents of hard-to-reach regions.

Medical wagons include radiation and functional diagnostics rooms, therapeutic and surgical rooms, a laboratory, a resident and a registry. The offices are equipped with modern high-tech equipment, including X-rays, mammograms, ultrasound, spirometry and stress tests. Patients can receive advice from an endocrinologist, urologist, surgeon, pediatrician and geriatrician. A feature of the train is the use of Celsus artificial intelligence to analyze X-ray examinations.

Oleg Belozerov stressed that the train makes it possible to be examined at the highest level and visit doctors in the main directions. The routes are drawn up in 59 settlements, thanks to which 180 thousand adults and 37 thousand children will be able to receive high-quality medical care. The PKDC employs more than 90 employees of the Russian Railways-Medicine team, of which 72 are doctors, as well as secondary and junior medical personnel.[1]
