2024: Utrace Hub Rollout

Utrace has introduced the Utrace Hub cloud digital marking management system at Baltika. The manufacturer will transfer several billion unique codes to GIS MT annually, and in the future will switch to full traceability of products. Utrace announced this on August 22, 2024.

The project for Baltika was implemented in several stages. The first launched the labeling of beer kegs - plastic or metal containers for storage transportation and drinks. The transfer data of books to the State Information System for Monitoring Goods (CPS and GIS MT) was connected in a short time - in just 3 months.

At the second stage, other types of form factors were included in the project - glass and plastic packaging. Then the labeling of sugary drinks was launched. Finally, from January 2024, the stage of marking cans began.

During the project, the Utrace HUB connector to the L3 level system from the Russian developer and manufacturer of the Meridian Group of Companies was also developed. The connector successfully proved itself as part of acceptance tests on various form factors and large volumes of products.

The annual turnover of Baltika is several billion units of goods. Therefore, we were looking for a supplier that would ensure the uninterrupted transmission of a large number of codes in the GIS. The throughput of the Utrace Hub exceeds 20 billion codes per year - this completely closes our needs, "said Anton Mazur, Head of the State Information Systems Department, IT Innovation Department, Baltika Brewery Company LLC.

Such a large-scale project was implemented in a short time due to the fact that Baltika has precisely and clearly organized business processes - we were able to quickly adapt them for labeling. From this point of view, the plant is considered the reference in Russia. In addition, Baltika's management is built at the international level, the requirements that the company places on contractors and partners are high. Therefore, the project was implemented quite smoothly, and specialists from both the plant and the suppliers of the L3 level system were involved in the process, "said Andrey Odin, project manager for implementation in the Baltic, director of Utrace projects.
