State Archive of the Vladimir Region Two domestic professional scanner ElarScan A2-800KS50 and ElarScan A1-800KS are supplied to digitize unique and most popular documents. This was Elar announced on November 27, 2024.

The State Archive of the Vladimir Region is one of the Russian archives, the documents of its funds reflect the diversity of economic, socio-political, scientific, religious and cultural life of the Vladimir Territory from the early administrative entities - the Vladimir district of the Moscow province, Vladimir governorship, Vladimir province to the modern Vladimir region. The chronological period of documents stored in the regional archive is from 1543 to 2024. To date, 89 unique documents are included in the regional register of unique documents of the Vladimir region, 88 - in the State Register of Unique Documents of the Archive Fund of the Russian Federation.

Digitization in the State Archive of the Vladimir Region (GBUVO "GAVO") is carried out in accordance with the Prospective Work Plan for the digitization of archival documents, for 2024-2028. translation into electronic form of metric books, confession sheets (murals) and revision tales is envisaged. The documents of the funds are also scanned, which are most intensively used by employees of GBUVO "GAVO" in the preparation of exhibitions, collections of documents, the execution of socio-legal and thematic requests, as well as at the request of users to copy documents, - said Natalya Vladimirovna Mozina, deputy director of GBUVO "GAVO."

Basically, the equipment will be used to digitize metric books and revision tales, as well as using planetary scanners, it is planned to digitize potentially unique documents, images of which will be submitted to Rosarchiv for inclusion in the State Register of Unique Documents of the Archive Fund of the Russian Federation.

The ElarScan A2-800KS50 and ElarScan planetary scanners are A1-800KS equipped with powerful cameras and will allow you to safely create high-quality electronic copies even for damaged, old materials, including with faded text and handwritten font. Both models are equipped with a deep floor cradle, which allows you to digitize, including overall and heavy originals, weighing up to 50 kg and up to 50 cm and 30 cm thick, respectively.

Electronic copies of digitized archival documents will be issued to employees and users of the reading room, and will also be loaded into the KAISA-Archive comprehensive information system for remote viewing, explains Natalya Vladimirovna Mozina.
