Raiffeisen Bank Aval and Sybase company completed creation of analytical storage based on Sybase IQ in bank.

About the Solution

In process of development of the storage operated by bank before specialists difficult tasks of the analysis and systematization of business processes for which solution it was required to organize obtaining the management reporting in different cuts with collection of information from a number of banking systems began to arise. The architecture of the being available storage did not provide access to other data sources, except for ODB, besides there was not enough Sybase ASE performance at the existing amounts of data for creation of difficult analytical reports any more. As the chief manager of management systems of databases of support department of IT systems of bank Valery Lazaruk explained, it was necessary to change approach to accomplishment of certain tasks in a root, at the same time the existing storage had to continue to perform earlier successfully implemented functions.

Choosing a Solution

In selection process of the solution, the bank drew close attention to Sybase IQ, besides, ample opportunities of accomplishment of any requests (which are not requiring preliminary preparation for accomplishment) became the essential factor which influenced the choice of the customer for benefit of Sybase IQ. Data loading speed became one more decisive factor, according to Valery Lazaruk.

The storage on the Sybase IQ platform provided analysts of bank with the powerful instrument of decision support and accelerated receipt of data to business users, having provided them with all completeness of information and access to historical data thanks to what the quality of reports increased, and the accuracy and speed of decision making increased.
