2022: WFP Yuzhnoye: How mobile automation saved business from mistakes and losses due to incorrect shipments

Manual shipments - the scourge of meat processing

The company WFP South"," one of the leaders meat-processing industries in, Russia faced serious problems in the process of shipping products. The enterprise, which specializes in slaughter and processing, pork serves both wholesale retail and customers, which requires high accuracy and speed in operation. However, the manual shipping process has become a source of constant errors and losses.

Trading with wholesale buyers complicates the shipping process: processing large volumes of goods in a short time has always been difficult. Employees of MPP Yuzhnoye were in a hurry to collect orders, attention fell, and as a result, customers received either an ailment or extra goods. Even though the storekeepers manually counted all the products and "gutted" the pallets during shipment, there were still mistakes,
Andrey Chuprov, programmer of Denvik.

In addition, the specific accounting system at the enterprise - the industry "1C: Meat Processing Plant" modified for the needs of the customer - added difficulties. New employees who are not familiar with the intricacies of working in this system often made mistakes in the execution of shipping documents. All this led to financial losses, an increase in staff salaries and compensation for damage to buyers.

Is automation a myth or a reality?

WFP Yuzhnoye management understood that the manual shipping process only increased the burden on personnel, but doubted that automation would be able to change something. Since the work was built in such a way that storekeepers checked documents and collected goods for each other before shipment.

These rechecks only slowed down the shipping process and did not completely eliminate errors. Therefore, the warehouse manager, when he turned to us, immediately asked if there was a way to automatically check for errors and whether it was possible to somehow avoid the need to disassemble pallets and recalculate the goods manually. We proposed automation of warehouse processes, but first it was necessary to convince the client that it really works,
Andrey Chuprov , programmer of Denvik.

Shipping documentation instead of manual labor, and barcodes instead of manual recalculation

MPP Yuzhnoye management decided to listen to the recommendations of Denvik specialists and try to automate the shipping process using data collection terminals (shipping documentation) and Kleverens software.

We installed Warehouse 15 "and set up all business processes. The software is open source. And this is precisely its main advantage, since we could adapt the system to the specific requirements of MPP Yuzhnoye without complex modifications and in a short time,
Andrey Chuprov, programmer of Denvik.

The implementation of the system began with the analysis of current processes and the development of the structure of database objects. Integrators took into account all the features of the customer's warehouse, including aggregated pallets, which include a set of boxes with arbitrary weight products.

File:Aquote1.png
We also modified the system to use the EAN 13 + 5 barcode template, which contains information about the product, weight and date of manufacture. Changed the appearance of screen forms to take into account simultaneous accounting in pieces (boxes) and product weight. And they developed the necessary printing plates and automated routine operations in the warehouse. This made it possible to significantly simplify the work of employees,
Andrey Chuprov, programmer of Denvik.

Technical Challenges and Overcoming Them

The main difficulties in implementation were of a technical nature: opening ports, gaining access. The process of integrating the system with the existing industry 1C: Meat Processing Plant was especially difficult.

File:Aquote1.png
There were no problems with Cloverens: the installation was simple, the code was open, and we were able to quickly adapt the system to the needs of the customer. We have finalized the EAN13 + 5 code to sew the production date and shelf life into the series. Now employees can see on the terminal screen not only the number of goods, but also information about their freshness,
Denvik programmer.

Error-Free Shipments and Saved Nerves

Automated shipping has greatly accelerated and simplified warehouse operations. Now it is enough for the storekeeper to scan the barcodes of the goods so that they automatically fall into the shipment document. At the same time, the system will not allow adding products that are not in the documents. This mechanism eliminates errors when sending goods to the buyer.

File:Aquote1.png
Previously, storekeepers had to disassemble pallets and recalculate the goods manually. You don't have to do that anymore. Errors have been reduced by at least half,
Andrey Chuprov.
File:Aquote2.png

The introduction of an automated system based on the Kleverens software solution made it possible to completely exclude cases of sending goods to the customer that are not in the order. Acceptance, movement within the company and inventory management have also been simplified.

File:Aquote1.png
It is especially important that the system made it possible to reduce the time for routine operations and reduce the burden on personnel. Storekeepers can focus on more important tasks, and not on endless recalculation of goods,
Denvik programmer.

Warehouse that operates as a clock

Today, the MPP Yuzhnoye warehouse is provided with a working tool that allowed the company to reach a new level of efficiency. The management of the meat processing enterprise can confidently plan volumes, knowing that the system will cope and work without failures.

File:Aquote1.png
This is an important step for business. Automation with Cloverens really changes the work of the company for the better and optimizes all processes. The most important thing is that the client is not just satisfied, but is ready to share successful experience with others. This means that we have coped with all the tasks set,
Andrey Chuprov, programmer of Denvik.
