Were a part of release of ArcGIS v.10.3.1 Smart Mapping technology and web 3D

On April 27, 2015 the Esri CIS company announced inclusion in structure of release of the version of ArcGIS 10.3.1 of Smart Mapping technology and opportunities of use 3D in web applications.

Changes affected desktop and server products.

The Smart Mapping technology helps users to visualize, analyze and receive the beautiful and optimum configured cards in several clicks by "mouse". Now, as a result of updating of a packet of ArcGIS, users can use Smart Mapping in ArcGIS Online (this option is available since March, 2015) and using the built-in viewer on the intra-company network – in Portal for ArcGIS.

Smart Mapping доступна в ArcGIS for Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online.

Some changes:

• in the version of ArcGIS 10.3.1 opportunities for work with 3D are expanded. The main innovation in adding to functionality of Portal for ArcGIS of means of support of three-dimensional maps (3D web scenes). Viewing, creation and the publication of three-dimensional web scenes directly in the browser is available to users. Cards are placed in internal network of the organization, and, respectively, Internet access is not required. It is possible to work with such 3D web scenes both in the ArcGIS Pro application, and in the viewer of Portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Online.

• for the version of ArcGIS 10.3.1 the special, new type of services of images is developed for the publication of these surfaces of heights. Service has the special mechanism of storage developed for processing of sheets (tiles) with high-rise data at several detail levels.

• addition in a system – expansion of library of the configured templates of applications. In particular, the templates "Contrastive Analysis", "Creation of Routes" are added to this version, the Editing templates, Story Map, etc. are updated.

• completions are entered to the instrument of rapid development of the Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS web applications: search capabilities of objects on the basis of settings of the card and use of the URL parameters for change of the application are added.

• new widgets are available, use of Web AppBuilder on mobile devices, etc. is improved.

ArcGIS for Desktop 10.3.1 found new functionality - three new instruments of geoprocessing are added to services of users:

• "Classify LAS by height",
• "Statistics of points of LAS on area"
• "Locate points of LAS nearby".

In the 3D Analyst tool kit the geoprocessing module "Visibility 2", defining provision on a raster surface was added.

ArcGIS API for JavaScript 4.0 beta 2

On December 2, 2015 Esri CIS announced availability to loading of the second beta of ArcGIS API for JavaScript 4.0.

ArcGIS API for JavaScript 4.0 included additional types of layers and settings of pop-up windows, the possibility of embedding of web scenes from Portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Online is provided. This version is distinguished by support of services of images, taylovy and cartographic services, problems of geoprocessing, search and identification, the network analysis and additional safety features.

The technology of vector tiles is announced at the world conference of users of Esri in the summer of 2015. The layer of vector tiles, like a usual raster mosaic, displays cached data, but at the same time they save the vector format. In turn, "on client side" vector tiles allow to configure style of a layer that does the card more dynamic and interactive.

To raise interactive opportunities of cartographic applications, creators of the version changed the mechanism of display of pop-up windows. Now windows can adapt to the screen size that does more convenient work on mobile devices. At the same time, developers received a set of options for setup of windows and the organization of their "behavior". For example, the pop-up window may contain now buttons when which clicking the operations necessary for this or that user are performed.

API also supports 3D - web scenes, it is for this purpose rather simple to insert into an application code of ID of the specific web scene placed on the portal, at the same time the appeal to any attributes of a web scene is possible.

It is important that in this version also local web scenes, including mapping of underground objects and navigation on them are supported.

Using ArcGIS ImageLayer in ArcGIS AP users can display and process bitmap images from ArcGIS services. It is useful when it is necessary to change online properties of the image for the subsequent display in the browser.

ArcGIS will support SAP HANA

On December 16, 2015 the Esri CIS company announced plans for 2016 on a release of the version of ArcGIS with a full support of SAP HANA^[1].

Expansion of the operating level of integration assumes native start of all SAP applications of Business Suite and ArcGIS in architecture on the SAP HANA platform.

It is expected that as a result of integration of two platforms possibilities of each of them will extend, providing accomplishment of the business and space analysis in uniform base SAP HANA. For example, users will be able to apply difficult business rules to the space data which are stored directly in SAP HANA and to define the cross space ratios (models and network topology) in a multi-user environment. Integration will help to carry out mass parallelization of calculations of "in-memory" for the loaded tasks that was unavailable to a GIS-applications earlier - it offers certain prospects for the geoanalysis of "Big Data".

According to Esri developers, support of corporate base of geodata in SAP HANA will provide dynamics, performance, simplicity of work with data for users of ArcGIS and will improve integration into corporate information. Clients of SAP will receive the complex geoinformation platform for creation of cards and maintaining the geospatial analysis.

2014

Video surveillance system and video analysts of VOCORD Tahion as a part of the GIS system Esri ArcGIS

Vokord and Esri CIS companies signed in the spring of 2014 the partnership agreement. Within cooperation the video surveillance system and video analysts of VOCORD Tahion will be used as a part of the GIS system Esri ArcGIS. It is planned that this solution will be applied in systems \ensuring complex security of the state and private objects and also for creation of the relevant dispatching offices and situational centers.

The main channel of providing data of video monitoring in a new solution is a geographic information system. To look at the video image of an object or the territory, it is enough to select the interesting area on the card then it is possible to receive in real time the image from the cameras controlling this area. Also the return scenario of work is also implemented: having clicked on the video image a specific object, it is possible to see its exact location on the card or a trajectory of the movement.

A system in the automatic mode detects disturbing events in control zones (the movement in a forbidden band, appearance of the person in the prohibited or dangerous zone, the left subject, smoke, etc.), and then directs the corresponding notifications to the internal web portal, jobs of operators and to mobile terminals of groups of rapid response. At the same time all events are also displayed on the card in real time.

As a subsystem of video surveillance the product of Vokord company – a video surveillance system of VOCORD Tahion which broadcasts video in real time is used, writes it in archive and detects different incidents.

As a geographic information system ArcGIS Desktop with the module Full Motion Video which is responsible for display "live" (or archive) to video on the card is applied and also allows to display the objects selected on the video image from cameras on the card. Specific implementation can include and ArcGIS Server ensuring joint work and functioning of the geoportal, Esri GeoEvent Processor for implementation of a monitoring system and the notification about location of objects.

2013

ArcGIS 10.2

In the version of ArcGIS 10.2 new approach to use of GIS in the organizations is implemented. Using this software access and data processing in real time and integration with corporate IT systems are provided at the maximum usability. ArcGIS 10.2 has new potential of the space analysis online, includes new features for joint work, information security support, fall forward of implementation of GIS at the corporate level and reliability of a system in general.

On August 1, 2013 the companies "Data+" also ESRI announced entry into the world and Russian markets of the new version of ArcGIS 10.2 – the professional software package GIS technologies of the company ESRI.

Analytical online tools

• Functionality of the space analysis using ArcGIS Online is significantly expanded.
• New tools of the analysis which were added to ArcGIS Online allow to investigate geographical interrelations, models and trends on the basis of the diverse geo-attached data.

Among new opportunities: combination of two or more layers in one layer, the analysis of "hot" and "cold" points and also information resources for selection of information on events, places and processes in specific area or in a radius of a certain time of "arrival".

Access to ArcGIS Online

Providing to users of ArcGIS Desktop access to functionality of ArcGIS Online, Esri grants the right to each user of the organization having the licenses ArcGIS for Desktop (Basic, Standard or Advanced) to receive a subscription to ArcGIS Online. The number of the named users will be to equally total number of the licenses for ArcGIS for Desktop which are on technical support. It will give to users the chance to easily begin work with ArcGIS Online and also will open access to all applications of Esri, such as to Esri Maps for Office, Collector for ArcGIS and Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS and also the numerous templates of applications placed in ArcGIS Online. Esri will notify users of ArcGIS on parts of this new offer in the next weeks.

Portal for ArcGIS

In the version of ArcGIS 10.2 there was a possibility of deployment of ArcGIS Online directly in corporate network that increases security of data and instruments of administration. Portal for ArcGIS gives the safe interface to ArcGIS for Server, the set of simple applications in use includes and provides a full integration with ArcGIS for Desktop. It includes the preview players and tools of the space analysis intended for the people who do not have any special knowledge in the field of GIS. Experienced users of GIS can be connected to Portal for ArcGIS through ArcGIS for Desktop, API for developers and also through other applications of Esri. The Portal for ArcGIS expansion is included into delivery of ArcGIS for Server Advanced (Enterprise or Workgroup) and licensed on number of the referred to as users.

Real-time access

ArcGIS 10.2 armed with a number of new technologies which help to collect and exchange data in real time. ArcGIS GeoEvent Processor for Server (new expansion for ArcGIS for Server) gives to users the chance to get access to a data stream, being connected practically to any sensor or stream data source, for example, to social networks. Using these products it is possible to trace several dynamic events at once, at the same time updating of cards and sending notifications will be automatic. Users can analyze these data and transfer results of processing to other users or to other systems. These opportunities turn GIS into the powerful instrument of decision support and data processing for quick response in any situation.

Expanded support of the business analysis (Business Intelligence – BI)

In the new version ArcGIS Esri expands support of main systems of a business intelligence. So, ArcGIS 10.2 includes new products for BI – Esri Maps for MicroStrategy and Esri Maps for Microsoft Dynamics CRM, giving to users of these platforms the chance to execute the space business analysis. Other tools of a business intelligence Esri – Esri Community Analyst and Esri Business Analyst Online – were also upgraded, supplied with the improved interface and new features.

The company reported that the localized version of ArcGIS 10.2 will be available to Russian-speaking users within the next weeks.

ArcGIS 10.3

Main objective of Esri company during creation of ArcGIS 10.3 was providing the innovation models and methods of application of GIS in real business in various sectors of the economy and public administration.

The complex of ArcGIS 10.3 technologies represents corporate GIS platform in which essentially new opportunities as for professionals in the field of GIS and cartography, and for business users, analysts and managers and also for technical specialists and developers are implemented.

The packet of ArcGIS 10.3 was developed according to the technology strategy of Esri and defines a number of trends of development of GIS at the global level. Let's note the main of them here.

First of all, it is about an opportunity to work with a system as in the closed corporate networks, and via the Internet, – from desktop computers and using mobile devices.

Other important trend is an application of GIS as tool for the space business analysis; at the same time it is provided both expansion of functionality, and work with the interface facilitating work to those users who have no special preparation in the field of GIS. In ArcGIS 10.3 new approach to work with images is implemented (space - and aerial photographs, LiDAR, etc.). In particular, now the automated one-time processing of tens and hundreds of thousands of pictures is available to users; processing "on the fly" and in the online mode; creation of the finished business applications using pictures, and other opportunities.

Let's pay also attention and to technologies of work with real-time data that allows to exercise based on GIS control of different dynamic processes, to create a monitoring system and control and so on. Developers report that in ArcGIS 10.3 the set of innovations and improvements in several main directions is implemented.

• First, this emergence as a part of the platform of the new desktop application ArcGIS Pro implemented as a part of the product ArcGIS for Desktop. The new application combines visualization, editing and the analysis using local data and also data of ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS – both two - and three-dimensional. Let's emphasize that now data can be created in 2D - and in 3D - formats, and then to be published in quality of vector layers, cards and layers of the analysis. At the same time it is possible to work with such data on one screen and in a unified environment. Also ArcGIS Pro distinguishes absolutely new "tape" interface and a possibility of creation and simultaneous operation with several configurations of the screen that is a huge step in development of a desktop GIS-applications.
• Secondly, ArcGIS 10.3 provides even more realistic representation of three-dimensional space not only in desktop, but also in mobile applications that gives the chance to create and browse extremely realistic 3D models of the cities and different objects practically on any device.
• Thirdly, ArcGIS 10.3 supports a format of open data, and new tools allow to create geoportals of open data in the automated mode for only several simple steps.

In ArcGIS 10.3 opportunities and convenience of using of a space business intelligence which problems optimization of placement of outlets and branches, geomarketing, market research, etc. is among, in particular, are expanded. Now, using simple in use, but extremely powerful tools of analytics, it is possible to find quickly the important information hidden in tabular data about clients, competitors, assets and communities that allows to make more justified and effective decisions.

Also as a part of ArcGIS 10.3 the important module – WebApp Builder appeared still they. In fact, this module is "designer" using whom the user can create functional web applications without programming.

Let's remind that all users of the desktop products ArcGIS with the operating technical support already have a subscription for the cloud GIS ArcGIS Online.

ArcGIS Runtime SDK 2.3 для iOS, Android и Windows Phone

Upgraded version of SDK for the IOS platform – ArcGIS Runtime SDK 2.3 for iOS – provides support of cartographic services and services of the objects published on ArcGIS Online; allows to monitor transactions of editing and to use rules of access control on editing objects at the level of users, for example, to impose a ban on change of the objects created by other persons. Besides, version 2.3 the possibility of setup of the permitted editing transactions distinguishes, in particular, change only of object attributes, but not geometry, or creation only of new objects, but not change of existing. Let's note that a number of functions is available only for services of the objects published on ArcGIS Online or using ArcGIS Server 10.1 above. Now localization of ArcGIS Runtime SDK 2.3 for IOS is available in 16 languages, including, and in Russian.

The version of ArcGIS Runtime SDK 3.0 for Windows Phone includes support of new services and opportunities of ArcGIS Server 10.1 (change of drawing and an order of layers, adding of layers "on the fly" in cartographic services; application of different options of classification to data on the server for layers of cartographic services; the improved methods of accomplishment of requests for obtaining different results and statistics; use of new functionality of services of images and dr). Along with it, version 3.0 supports the ArcGIS Portal library which replaced WebMap library and provides use of IdenityManager for access to services and web maps which are protected by a token. Besides, the functions providing support of requests and editing for versionny layers in base of geodata, the improved work with services of objects, services of the network analysis, geocoding, geometry and geoprocessing are built in software.

Using ArcGIS Runtime SDK 2.0 for Android users can embed GIS functionality in applications for smartphones and tablets on the Android platform of version 2.2 above.

Software module of Esri ArcGIS for AutoCAD

ArcGIS for AutoCAD represents the free software module providing interaction of software of AutoCAD and ArcGIS. Thanks to this module, users get simple and convenient access to corporate GIS, the services of cards, pictures and objects published through ArcGIS for Server – directly from the AutoCAD environment. Besides, ArcGIS for AutoCAD allows to edit the data of ArcGIS which are stored as locally in AutoCad drawings, and in base of geodata ArcGIS using service of objects ArcGIS for Server.

Let's especially note that the version of ArcGIS for AutoCAD SP1 is distinguished by a number of new features and improvements. Key of them: support of AutoCAD 2013 for Windows (64 bits and the 32-bits version); completely localized and available in Russian (and also on English, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, French and Italian) the user interface and documentation of ArcGIS for AutoCAD 300 Service Pack 1; access to the protected ArcGIS servers using authentication mechanisms of Windows or SQL Server and connection to the ArcGIS server the proxy server.

Also, in ArcGIS for AutoCAD SP1 services of a geolocation by default use ArcGIS Online Global Locator Service, cartographic layers consider installations of transparency AutoCAD, and layers of pictures now – flowing "вьюпойнт" even if several "vyyupoynt" are defined.

ArcGIS 10.1

On June 13, 2012 the Russian company Esri CIS announced that since June 14 of this year sales of software of ArcGIS of version 10.1 – new generation of GIS products of Esri company begin. The software package ArcGIS 10.1 is the full-function GIS system integrating a desktop, server and mobile GIS-applications and web services. It contains all necessary instruments and infrastructure solutions for creation of the finished GIS of the corporate level, increase in return from already existing GIS-applications and also for transition to a new step of use of GIS when preserving of already made investments. Let's emphasize that the version of ArcGIS 10.1 gives the chance to work with cartographic services and to carry out the analysis of space data to all categories of users including that who has no special GIS preparation. Now, working with ArcGIS 10.1, it is possible to receive maps, pictures, bases of geodata and other space information and also tools for their processing in the form of "cloud" web services.

In this version the core of ArcGIS for Server 10.1 is completely processed. This product is under construction on EJB technology (Enterprise Java Beans), completely maintains 64-bit architecture of Windows and Linux and contains own Web server for start of services. It means extraordinary high performance of web applications and work with cards and images for the user online. Besides, it provides carrying out the space analysis "on the fly" and different options of installation of a system in general ("cloud", corporate to GIS portals and so forth). By software of ArcGIS for Server 10.1 it is certified for work in virtual environments of VMware and VCE Vblock and it can be unrolled on the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud platform. Among new opportunities of ArcGIS for Server we will note also the service of printing allowing to prepare high-quality large-format cards in PDF directly from web cards and also preparation of cards from base of geodata.

ArcGIS for Desktop 10.1 presents itself the most powerful of the tools which are available at the market for professional GIS. With its help it is possible to create, analyze and publish any Gisresurs (maps, pictures, geodata and metadata) as web services for ArcGIS for Server or ArcGIS Online. It provides the authorized secure access of users to the organizations and beyond its limits to the created Gisresurs without difficult additional transactions. Let's especially note advanced instruments of space correlation analysis and modules of convenient work with big arrays of space data (pictures, raster data, lidarny shooting, etc.).

For mobile application development for the IOS, Android and Windows Phone platforms new ArcGIS Runtime Software Developer Kits (SDKs) are created. They will fully allow to use possibilities of creation of cards, to involve effective instruments of geoprocessing of the updated ArcGIS for Server and ArcGIS Online. Using mobile applications users will get access to cartographic content, will be able to collect, to edit and process data "in the field", to address far off corporate bases of geodata and so forth.

At last, the new ArcGIS 10.1 component – ArcGIS Runtime – allows to create and start a free-standing GIS-applications on a desktop. At this Runtime uses few resources for start and does not require installation or any other additional software – it can be started, for example, directly with CD.

Thus, the release of the ArcGIS 10.1 software package is the next step in development of GIS technologies; it opens new opportunities for creation and access to space information and its use in scales of the organization, the industry and the state.

Certification of FSTEC of Russia

On May 30, 2012 the Consortium of the Russian companies DATA+ Esri CIS was also announced that the ArcGIS software package successfully underwent the procedure of certification by the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control (FSTEC of Russia). It agrees issued on the basis of tested to the Certificate, the software package ArcGIS conforms to requirements of the regulating document "Protection against unauthorized access to information" for the fourth level of absence control of not declared opportunities.

As notes the management of the companies of consortium, obtaining the certificate opens new opportunities for application of the modern geoinformation software. In particular, now it can be used during creation of the protected special solutions for different public authorities, during the work with personal data and also when developing responsible corporate applications. In particular, treat them: infrastructures of space data of federal and regional levels, the analytical and managing systems, situational analytical centers for state and business structures, the system of the class COP (common operational picture) and others.

ArcGIS software, intended for visualization and work with large volumes of space data, it is well known in the Russian market of geographic information systems.
