TNK-BP is vertically integrated oil company in which portfolio a number of the extracting, overworking and sales enterprises in Russia and Ukraine.
The extracting company assets are located in Western and Eastern Siberia and the Volga-Ural region.
The main overworking company assets are located in Ryazan, Saratov, Nizhnevartovsk and Lysychansk (Ukraine). The retail network of the company includes 1600 refueling stations in Russia and Ukraine working under brands of "multinational corporation" and BP. The company is a key supplier on retail market of Moscow and is in the lead in the market of Ukraine.
Performance Indicators
In 2005 production of the company averaged 1.58 million oil barrels a day that is 6% more in comparison with 2004.
History
On October 20, 2012 it became known that the Board of Directors of BP unanimously approved the transaction during which the share of the company in TNK-BP will be sold to Rosneft. It is written by the Kommersant newspaper, referring to the sources familiar with the decision of council.
According to the edition, for 50 percent of shares of TNK-BP the British company will draw nearly 13 percent of shares of Rosneft and also 17 billion dollars. Thus, Kommersant notes, BP will become the largest shareholder of Rosneft after Rosneftegaz (BP already has 1.3 percent of shares of Rosneft purchased in 2006).
One of sources of Kommersant believes that the official statement can be made on the transaction next week as its design will take several days.
In addition to Rosneft the consortium AAR which is already owning a part of stocks of TNK-BP applied for a share of BP in TNK-BP.
