2025: Car sales in Belarus for the year increased 2.3 times, to 52.1 thousand units

In mid-January 2025, the Belarusian Automobile Association announced an increase in sales of new cars in the country to 52.1 thousand units in 2024, which is 2.3 times higher than in 2023.

According to Avtostat, in December 2024, the sale of new cars in Belarus reached 7,205 units, an increase of 2.1 times compared to December 2023.

Over the year, car sales in Belarus doubled

Alexander Stelmakh, Director General of MINSK-LADA OJSC and member of the BAA Board, notes that the significant increase in sales in December is due to the marketing activity of dealers who offered discounts and favorable financial conditions, as well as increased demand from buyers.

The leader in sales on the Belarusian market was the brand/ Geely, Belgee which sold 3,567 cars in December, which is 53% of the total market volume. The company has strengthened its position thanks to local production and a developed dealer network.

The share of electric vehicles in the sales structure increased significantly - to 8% in December 2024 against 1.8% in December 2023. The increase in demand for electric vehicles was facilitated by the expansion of the lineup and the development of charging infrastructure.

The light commercial transport segment accounted for 6% of total sales in December 2024. Growth in this segment is associated with the renewal of corporate fleets and the development of small businesses.

During 2024, there was a steady trend of increased sales of new cars, while December has traditionally become the month of maximum sales. The growth of the market was supported by favorable financing conditions and the expansion of the supply of affordable models.

The development of local production and state support for the automotive industry contributed to an increase in the availability of new cars for Belarusian consumers and an increase in sales in the domestic market.[1]
