- The academic large choir "Masters of Choral Singing" of radio "Orpheus" was founded in 1928 as the Vocal Ensemble of the All-Union Radio Committee. The founder and first artistic director was A.V. Sveshnikov. The choir was repeatedly renamed, among the names: the Choir of the All-Union Radio Committee (VRK Choir), the Great Choir of the All-Union Radio (Great Choir of BP), the academic Great Choir of Central Television and All-Union Radio (Great Choir of CT and BP), etc.
Since 2005, the artistic director and chief conductor of the Masters has been People's Artist of Russia Lev Kontorovich.
