2018: Transition to domestic office software
The Office of the President of the Russian Federation in January 2018 published a schedule for the transition to the use of domestic office software in the period until 2020. The transition is planned both in the administration itself and in its territorial administration in the Republic of Crimea.
According to the document, in terms of the office suite, the Office plans to switch to the MyOffice product. In 2018, it should be installed on at least 20% of jobs, and at least 80% of jobs - in 2020.
As an alternative to the Windows operating system, the Office of Presidential Affairs chose Astra Linux Special Edition. As with the office suite, the new OS must be installed on at least 80% of the workplaces. Imported media to be replaced will be used from this operating system, indicated in the schedule.
It is also planned to switch to domestic EDMS with domestic cryptographic protection tools (its manufacturer is not specified in the document) and antivirus protection tools - Kaspersky Lab products.
The department plans to switch to the use of domestic Internet browsers Yandex and Sputnik. The schedule also specifies the use of Russian reference systems "Guarantor" and "Consultant."
Part of the plan was implemented back in 2017. For example, since that year, the above reference systems have been used, partially switched to domestic EDMS, antiviruses and Internet browsers. However, the transition to a number of solutions was impossible in 2017.
In the justification for the schedule, the Office explains that, for example, the test results revealed the need to refine the Astra Linux OS code for satisfactory operation of the information systems available in the Office, the justification for the schedule says.
