2025: The volume of industrial production in Belarus for the year decreased by 1.8% to $71.5 billion

In January 2026, the National Statistical Committee Belarus summed up the work of industry in 2025. The total volume of production in current prices reached 208 billion (rubles about $71.5 billion). In comparable prices, allowing to assess the real dynamics without taking into account, the inflations industry showed a decrease: compared to 2024, the fall was 1.8%. This contrasts markedly with the results of 2024, when there was an active growth of 5.4%.

The main pressure on the general statistics was exerted by the manufacturing industry - a key sector of the economy. Here, the decline was deeper than the average and reached 2.5%.

At the same time, certain industries in Belarus ended the year with positive dynamics. Thus, the extractive industry at the end of 2025 added 2.7%. The energy sector also showed steady growth: the supply of electricity, gas and steam increased by 1.7%. In the field of water supply and waste disposal, production in 2025 remained at the level of the previous year. The industrial production index for December 2025 by November 2025 was 105.6%.

All year (2025) in this most important area there was a steadily slowing trend, in the second half of the year 98.2% worked with negative dynamics. January 2026 - another minus 3.4%. Half of the manufacturing industry is in a difficult situation, - said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, accepting the government report for 2025 in February 2026. - In the key Russian market only Minprom did not get $1 billion last year. All his businesses are in the red zone. We are seeing a drop in the output of key goods.

The Belarusian leader compared the situation in the country's economy with wartime: "Time is almost military. Why? The economy has become a real battlefield. Economic instruments achieve the goals of the classical war: to take away resources, to cause social protests, to force us to fulfill not our rules - life according to other rules[1]

2024: Industrial production growth by 5.4% to 202.4 billion Belarusian rubles

In 2024, the volume of industrial production in Belarus amounted to 202.4 billion Belarusian rubles ($61.94 billion at the exchange rate as of January 17, 2025). This is 5.4% more compared to 2023. Such data were published on January 16, 2025 by the National Statistical Committee of the Republic (Belstat).

It is noted that in 2024, the mining industry of Belarus showed an increase of 3.6% on an annualized basis. In the manufacturing industry, an increase of 5.5% was recorded. The supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air also showed an increase of 5.5%. Water supply, collection, treatment and disposal of waste, pollution elimination activities ensured an increase of 0.2% compared to 2023.

Belstat also reports that in December 2024, industrial production increased by 4.3% on an annualized basis. Month to month growth was recorded at 4.8%.

In 2024, a number of new industrial enterprises opened in Belarus. In particular, in December, the production of Onko Solutions anticancer drugs was launched: the plant's capacity allows the production of 500 thousand bottles of finished products per year, which is expected to fully satisfy the country's need for a whole series of medicines. In November, Ivatsevichdrev launched a new line for laminating wood chips of its own production. In addition, it was decided to implement new projects in the field of medicine within the framework of the Soyuz-Biomembrane program[2]
