The new head of the IT block - Dmitry Samozhkin

As TAdviser found out in July 2024, Ksenia Pozdnyakova, director of IT and digital transformation at the Samolet group, is leaving the company. Instead, the direction will be headed by Dmitry Samozhkin, who until now holds the position of general director of the Aircraft 10D digital platform. Read more here.

TAdviser interview with IT and Financial Transformation Director Ksenia Pozdnyakova

The Airplane Group began digital transformation in 2019, and in recent years has systematically increased investments in IT. In 2023, the group's IT budget amounted to 10 billion rubles. Plans for 2024 include multiple increases in investment and team size. In February 2024, Ksenia Pozdnyakova, director of IT and financial transformation at Samolet, spoke about how the departure of Western vendors influenced the digital transformation process, and what areas this year will require the greatest resources. 2023: Samolet invested 10 billion rubles in IT per year, increased the IT team to 1.5 thousand people and began selling digital products

Investments in the IT developer "Airplane" in 2023 amounted to about 10 billion rubles, and the company does not plan to stop there. Ksenia Pozdnyakova, director of IT and financial transformation of Airplane, spoke about this on December 12, 2023 at the annual Big Day Plane conference.

According to her, the number of IT employees in the company has doubled over the past two years and to date has reached 1.5 thousand people. More than 100 IT commands have been formed.

There are 359 systems in the IT landscape. They were combined into a single target corporate architecture. So many systems are a large economy that requires investments in reliability and infrastructure, said Ksenia Pozdnyakova. Therefore, in 2023, Avtomol seriously worked on the IT infrastructure and built a metro cluster (as a cluster is called, distributed into several sites within a city or district), which allows ensuring system availability at the level of 99.95% and high fault tolerance of the entire IT landscape.

The volume of data in the company doubles every year, it has already reached 2.7 PB. According to Ksenia Pozdnyakova, the company invests a lot in the accumulation and processing of data in order to make important decisions on their basis.

There are many areas of IT development in the company. One of the key is the platform of IT products of 10D own design for managing the entire development cycle. And in 2023, new areas appeared, including centralized services (technology platform, infrastructure in which the company is invested) and fintech.

Among the new platforms is also HR Tech, which, according to Ksenia Pozdnyakova, the company developed "literally in three months" in 2022, when SAP left Russia. It is used to manage the personnel of the group of about 16 thousand people.

Ksenia Pozdnyakova told TAdviser that the system was developed from scratch, first to replace SAP SuccessFactors in order to close functions that needed to be urgently closed with the departure of SAP, but by mid-2023 it had evolved into a multi-module platform covering more processes. Now it can also serve as a replacement for SAP HCM, says the director of IT and financial transformation at Airplane.

Some know-how of the "Aircraft" are also built into the platform: for example, vacations are approved automatically in it, the participation of the manager is not required.

There is no full personnel registration on the platform, and next to it is "1C: Payroll and HR Management," said TAdviser Ksenia Pozdnyakova. But this is already a mature product, and, according to her, customers are already coming to the company to buy this platform.

In addition, Avtomol has developed its own innovative solution in the field of ERP, which is planned to be introduced and presented in 2024.

From the presentation of Ksenia Pozdnyakova

Like many others, in 2022 the Airplane group faced a challenge than to replace the decisions of the departed vendors. In addition to SAP, we are also talking about Autodesk - AutoCAD products, in particular. Ksenia Pozdnyakova notes that the question here is not just to import substitution of solutions. The company sets itself the goal of being a leader, so it needs the best software.

Another challenge is the need for rapid digitalization with insufficient experience in the construction industry. Until recently, the construction industry was not among the leaders in terms of digitalization, and now there are few players in it with whom Samolet could learn. You have to learn from other industries, says the director of IT and financial transformation. But you cannot copy someone else's experience, because Avtolet has its own path - "we are no longer a developer in full": now the company is a mix of industries and, accordingly, a mix of solutions with industry specifics.

In 2023, the company also significantly invested in RPA technologies, currently it has more than 60 software robots to help save labor. For example, with their help, the company analyzes bank statements on accounts.

Developments are also underway in the field of AI. They are used, for example, to track the status of construction, to detect violations of labor protection - AI learned to automatically collect fines, which ensured a threefold increase in the collection of fines from contractors.

From the presentation of Andrei Ivanenko, managing partner of Aircraft Moscow

Samolet not only uses some IT products developed within the company, but also offers them on the foreign market, representatives of the developer said at an event on December 12. The most effective way here in the company is to provide consulting services with subsequent implementation of the product at the customer. The 10D platform has already had the first clients with concluded contracts, and the HR solution is still being piloted by customers, and since 2024, Samolet plans to offer it as a service.

The general director of the Samolet group, Anton Elistratov, in a conversation with TAdviser, said that no one in the world has yet managed to create a product that would combine three entities - 3D modeling, financial model and construction control necessary for successful construction, and in addition would be flexible in setting up processes for different teams. According to him, the 10D is now at about the same stage as the product of the American company Procore, which develops construction management software. At the same time, the 10D continues to be finalized.

From a general strategic point of view, the general director sees the sale of software developed inside Avtomol as being somewhat separate from the main business areas. The group's strategy is about the quality of life of the client, and the software is a B2B service that Samolet originally developed for its needs and sells to other businesses, the CEO of the Samolet group explained to TAdviser.

From the presentation of Anton Elistratov

The rapid development of IT in Avtomol has recently been associated with the group's business strategy:

File:Aquote1.png
Our strategy is that we continue to change and move from the developer near Moscow, who we were 5-7 years ago, towards being the number one real estate player in the Russian Federation and further becoming a technology company that sells life by subscription, "said Anton Elistratov on Big Day Plane.
File:Aquote2.png

The idea behind the latter is to build infrastructure, tools and services to help customers save time and money to spend on something really important. In 2023, Samolet launched a corresponding product - Life by Subscription. Based on recommendation algorithms, it gives customers the opportunity to get a set of ready-made solutions - services and goods - "by subscription" and pay them in installments. This service should tie together the entire path of the client and make his life happier - this is how the Airplane service is positioned.

Anton Elistratov also said that in mid-December the Samolet group had already come out on top in terms of construction volumes in Russia and Europe. The company is actively developing construction in the regions, entering new real estate segments for itself and expanding the ecosystem of services that it offers to its customers. Among the most significant plans for the near future is the launch of its own bank in the interests of its business. And implementing large-scale plans requires a serious IT component, including specialists, infrastructure and tools.

2022:500 job openings

As part of the scaling of projects in the Moscow and other Russian regions, more than 500 vacancies in the field of IT, design of construction facilities and engineering structures were opened in the Airplane group. The total number of new employees of the company at the end of the year should be 1200 people. The company announced this on April 11, 2022.

More than 300 vacancies have already been opened at the developer's design institute - by the end of 2022, the staff of designers can double to almost 1000 employees, 200 vacancies are open in the IT unit, and specialists are also selected for project teams and a management company. Professionals will help the developer continue to actively develop in the changed market conditions by introducing innovations aimed at optimizing processes, reducing production costs and growing the business.

Architects, designers, design engineers of low-current systems, power supply systems, water supply and drainage systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems are recruited into the team of the developer's design institute. All specialists must have the skills to work with a software solution based on BIM technology - Revit. Also, vacancies of general plan engineers were opened at the design institute.

The developer's IT unit, which is actively developing, requires backend and frontend developers, business analysts, system analysts, Data Science and Data Quality specialists, project managers, as well as Big Data project managers. Avtomol Group pays great attention to the introduction of advanced technologies that allow optimizing the production process, developing the quality of projects, reducing the construction time and offering real estate buyers the most popular and progressive product on the market. Many of the developer's digital products developed by the internal team are innovative and unparalleled in the market. The working atmosphere within the IT block in particular and the company as a whole allows professionals to implement the most daring ideas and projects.

To all employees, the company offers official employment, a hybrid format of work in the office and remotely, an expanded VHI package, accident insurance from the first month of work, preferential VHI for close relatives, property insurance, real estate discounts from the Airplane group, individual installments, etc.

"Airplane" carefully monitors the comfort of the workflow of its employees, contributes to the growth and development of specialists. Employees regularly undergo training, have access to courses of leading educational platforms. Also, the HR team regularly organizes meetings with external and internal experts, master classes, workshops. A digital library with more than 3,000 books is available to team members.

{{quote 'We keep plans for the development of projects, so the search for specialists, professionals in their industries does not stop. The company offers attractive conditions for employees: competitive remuneration, voluntary medical insurance, professional development programs and other bonuses. In a difficult situation, many high-quality specialists are open to offers, and we are ready to accept them. Thanks to new employees, their creative ideas and knowledge, our best team on the market will become even stronger and more efficient.

New employees are actively supported at the stage of adaptation. The company creates all the conditions so that each member of the Aircraft team can develop professionally and personally, and build his career within the group.

In the near future, it is planned to open a number of vacancies in other divisions, "said Marina Romanova, HR Director and member of the Board of the Airplane Group.}}

2021

"Airplane" summed up the results of digitalization

On December 27, 2021, Samolet announced the completion of the first stage of digitalization, which lasted three years. During this period, the development group invested 3 billion rubles in the development of digital technologies and implemented more than 60 relevant projects within the framework of three global platforms.

By the end of 2021, the development and implementation of solutions for platforms only within the "aircraft" is engaged in the staff of IT specialists, which has more than 250 people. It is noted that every 10 employee of "Airplane" is a programmer. External contractors are also involved in the work. Most of the solutions implemented are developed exclusively for the specific tasks of the company.

"Airplane" summed up the results of digitalization

Pavel Gushtyuk, director of digital products at Avtomol, noted that boxed or ready-made solutions, as a rule, do not fit the goals and objectives of the group, as well as the specifics of the construction industry as a whole. Therefore, it is more advisable to write a product from scratch than to try to transform a ready-made solution and build a single Aircraft system. Thanks to this approach, the group saved about 9 billion rubles, he said.

File:Aquote1.png
Now we are introducing the "figure" not only in sales, but also in construction, services for customers and residents of our residential complexes, and in other areas of work. We act in a complex manner, achieving the maximum effect. Digital "Airplane" will change the idea of the real estate market, - said Pavel Gushtyuk.
File:Aquote2.png

According to him, by the end of 2023, the company expects to achieve an economic effect of 35 billion rubles from the introduction of its own technological solutions.

By the end of 2021, Samolet is developing a platform responsible for automation of production processes - from design to construction control. Its core is the planning and control system of the development cycle S. Enter. The launch of the platform is scheduled for 2022.

Reduce settlement time with contractors from 30 to 4 days

A digital solution has been created in the Airplane group, which allows you to reduce the time for settlement with contractors under certificates of work (KS-2) from 30 to 4 days. As of December 2021, the average calculation time is 7-8 days, and as part of the work on the project of the Tomilino Park residential complex, the figure reached 4 days. The task of 2022 is to reduce the process to 2-3 days. This amount of time should be the average for processing all CSs per project. The group announced this on December 7, 2021.

As part of the implementation of automation in 2021, more than 50 production processes were optimized. In addition to reducing the time for settlements with contractors, the technologies being implemented make it possible to record the dynamics of the work performed in real time and control costs, which makes the entire process of implementing the investment and construction project as transparent and safe as possible.

The number of documents for the formation of the Constitutional Court for each project is huge. For example, in October alone, according to the Tomilino Park project, which showed the best results following the implementation of the solution, 52 sets of documents passed through it. While in the residential complex "Lyubertsy" the company has 40 houses in active work as of December 2021, and this is about 80-100 contractors. Given the large number of projects at the Avtomol group, we can imagine that the volume of document flow only for the Constitutional Court is simply huge.

Usually, the format of interaction with contractors on the certificates of work performed is quite complex for both parties: the contractor could submit the completed volumes and send documents to the developer only on certain days of the month, after which he could wait for the verification of the completed volumes and crediting the funds to the current account. The whole process took about 30 days. Control services (technical supervision, PTD, etc.) experienced a very heavy load at the end of the month, and contractors were forced to wait for their turn to check.

To solve the problem, the company united the efforts of specialists from different departments. As a result, a digital module was created that combines micro-applications responsible for different functions and allows the contractor and customer to work together on the same platform. Now each contractor can submit an application for CS at any time, and technical supervision specialists can check them, along with daily work as part of quality control of the work performed. The employment calendar of technical supervision is in the public domain and allows you to form a convenient interaction mode for everyone.

At the settlement stage, the advance offset mechanism is also automated: at the beginning of December 2021, 60% of cases occur without human participation. The development of the digital direction allows you to speed up the work of accounting. Specialists receive a complete package of documents in digital form with electronic signatures from the contractor and customer, an invoice and an invoice, which are automatically processed within the system. The system automatically generates all the necessary documents.

The digital platform of the Aircraft group allows you to store all as-built documentation in one place in a clear order, understandable and convenient for the participants in the process. The functions of the system are available online from any gadget and place of work.

File:Aquote1.png
The ideology of our company, focused on creating a comfortable life and saving time, applies to the residents of our complexes, employees, and partners. Thanks to modern technologies, we can hire the best specialists from anywhere in the world, and automation of production processes in terms of mutual settlements with contractors contributes to the fact that we work with the best players in the market, "said Pavel Gushtyuk, director of digital products at Airplane Group.

"Aircraft" chose a supplier of smart home technologies for its facilities

On March 15, 2021, the Airplane group announced the choice of a smart home technology provider for its facilities. A contract worth more than 1 billion rubles was concluded with the Perm IT company Unicorn. The latter will supply smart infrastructure to Airplane for five years. Read more here.

"Aircraft" began to use voice biometrics in call centers

"Plane" was the first among Russian developers to use voice biometrics in call centers. The group announced this on March 11, 2021. Read more here.

Investing 8 billion rubles in business digitalization

On March 10, 2021, it became known that the Samolet group invested about 8 billion rubles in the digitalization of business, as well as in the purchase of IT projects. Thanks to this, the developer expects to increase the efficiency of his work, build housing faster and make it better.

As the company told TAdviser, by March 2021, all calculations of the work performed with contractors actually go manually, it takes up to two weeks, and the companies themselves receive payment at best once a month. Digitalization will speed up this procedure, as a result of which the developer will be able to pay contractors more often or pay for work in parts. Due to this, the latter will be able to hire higher-skilled workers for construction.

"Airplane" invests 8 billion rubles in the digitalization of business and the purchase of IT projects

The second big area for investment in IT is the digitalization of channels of interaction with the company's clients. It is planned to create infrastructure for concluding online deals around the clock in 30 minutes. The next stage will be the creation of a single system in which the client can buy housing or issue a mortgage, as well as rent or sell an apartment, interact with a management company, buy smart home and smart apartment services, communicate with neighbors, purchase goods and services.

The digitalization carried out by Avtomol will also affect the investment stage of the development of construction projects. It is expected that thanks to the interactive map of promising sites with the application of all existing and planned engineering networks by artificial intelligence, automatic calculation of the economic potential of the site will be carried out. This will reduce the impact of the human factor, the likelihood of error in calculations and will allow the company's land bank to be used as efficiently as possible, optimally determining not only the parameters of the future project, but also its general concept and architecture, the development group hopes.

The total economic effect of the planned digitalization is estimated by the Aircraft at a maximum of 4% EBITDA.
