The rest of the companies conduct internal and external training in the format of seminars, with the help of mentors or do not engage in training. At the same time, these industry representatives note their interest in developing employees and are in need of using automated training tools.

LMS platforms are most in demand among large organizations. The degree of penetration of training management software in enterprises with 5,000 or more employees is 95%. However, the largest potential of the client base is made up of representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, as well as companies in the regions of the country. There, according to the study, 87% of those who do not use distance learning platforms are located. Customers gradually have a need for LMS systems to close more and more issues related to training and development of employees. In particular, the important components of such products are the ability to connect other HR cycle processes to them, for example, assessing employee competencies and building career tracks, as well as tools based on AI and ML technologies .

In the period from 2020 to 2023, most of the leading market players grew steadily. And although in 2023 enterprises partially reduced budgets for corporate training, the revenue of suppliers of LMS systems grew. This is due to the fact that Russian companies replaced the departed foreign vendors in the market.

Nexign forecasts that demand for LMS will grow most rapidly in regional small and medium-sized businesses. In 2027, the market volume of LMS systems will reach 6.72 billion rubles. This is due to the fact that, despite the crisis, large companies are ready to invest in the automation of training, since this allows them to save money in the short term.

Among the most important factors when choosing LMS systems, companies note:

  • an open API, since companies have a need to reduce the participation of developers in organizing the work of the LMS system;
  • integration with other services;
  • system synchronization with messengers and mail;
  • simple user registration mechanism;
  • analytical potential;
  • cost of the solution;
  • user-friendly interface;
  • the ability to ensure the security and confidentiality of personal data;
  • possibility of customization;
  • availability of a roadmap for the development of solutions, which will make it possible to understand how the vendor plans to change and improve the IT product;
  • gamification;
  • possibility of offline access to the system.

The researchers predict that in the near future it will be possible to see an increase in demand for multifunctional platforms with an open API, which will allow you to connect the process of training employees with business results, improve financial performance by increasing employee motivation and the effectiveness of their interaction with the company.
