2024: Wholesale sales of medical furniture in Russia for the year increased by 13.5% and reached ₽10,6 billion
The volume of medical furniture production in Russia in 2024 reached ₽10,6 billion, an increase of 13.5% compared to 2023. This is evidenced by the data of the analytical company Alto Consulting Group, released in October 2025.
The growth reflects the strengthening of domestic demand, the expansion of public procurement and the modernization of private clinics. The Central Federal District became the leader in terms of production with a 53.5% share due to the concentration of industrial enterprises, convenient logistics and developed infrastructure for the supply and assembly of equipment.
Medical furniture is not only standard tables and cabinets, but also specialized products. The segment includes surgical tables, dental chairs, veterinary installations, and laboratory equipment kits. These products are characterized by high processability, strict quality standards and certification.
The production of medical furniture belongs to the high-tech industry sector. The requirements for strength, hygienicity and functionality exceed the standards of ordinary furniture. The use of stainless steel, antibacterial coatings and ergonomic mechanisms increases the cost of production.
Hospitals and clinics purchase equipment for surgical and therapeutic departments. Operating tables with adjustable height and tilt ensure the comfort of surgeons. Patient transport gurneys meet safety standards.
Dental offices are equipped with chairs, workstations and tools. Modern dental chairs integrate water, air and suction supply systems. Modular solutions allow you to adapt the cabinet to various specializations.
Veterinary clinics use operating tables, counters and specialized cabinets. The equipment is adapted to work with animals of different sizes. Hydraulic lifts make it easier to place large animals on tables.
Laboratories and diagnostic centers require desks, racks and integrated work kits. Chemically resistant surfaces withstand the effects of aggressive reagents. Ventilation and exhaust systems ensure personnel safety.[1]

Moscow will buy medical furniture worth 5.1 billion rubles
In early March 2023, the Moscow mayor's office announced that it would conclude an offset contract with the investor for the supply of medical furniture. The winner of the auction will invest at least 250 million rubles in localizing the production of more than 80 products. In exchange, the city health department will purchase over 160 thousand units of products to equip clinics for a total of 5.1 billion rubles.
According to Vladimir Efimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations, investors can apply for participation in the electronic competition until March 16, 2023. The winner will conclude an offset contract with the city for 10 years - until 2032 inclusive. According to the terms of the agreement, the investor must localize the production of medical furniture in the city within three years (including medical couches, surgical, laboratory, dressing, viewing and changing tables, multifunctional beds, etc.), which will be supplied to medical institutions of the capital.
| Moscow continues to expand the scope of the offset contract mechanism, but socially important categories of goods remain in focus. The city pays special attention to the localization of the production of medical devices. For example, a contract for the supply of absorbent linen was recently signed, and by the end of this year we plan to conclude a contract for the supply of consumables for the needs of the blood service. The total investment in new offsets will amount to more than one billion rubles, - said the head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow Vladislav Ovchinsky, whose words are quoted on the official website of the mayor of Moscow. |
By February 2023, the city authorities signed six offset contracts for 84.4 billion rubles, of which four were for the creation of drug production and two were for the production of medical products.[2]
