Psoriasis

Psoriasis is one of the most common diseases related to autoimmune or immunoinflammatory diseases.

Psoriasis is a chronic, noninfectious, recurrent disease with predominant skin involvement. The disease manifests itself with itching and the formation of red rashes, papules - nodules that rise above the surface of the skin. Papules merge into plaques, which are covered with silvery scales and strongly peeling. In recent years, psoriasis has been spreading among 16 to 22-year-olds. Experts associate this fact with hormonal changes[1]

Among chronic skin diseases, psoriasis occupies a leading [2] They are sick with about 3% of Russians[3] to the high risk of developing several immunoinflammatory diseases in one patient, early diagnosis and adequate therapy are extremely relevant. According to various authors, 30% of patients with psoriasis are diagnosed with psoriatic [4]

Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a chronic inflammatory disease with a wide range of clinical manifestations. In psoriatic arthritis, not only the joints, spine and tendons are involved in the inflammatory process, but also the nail plates, intestines and organs of vision. PsA is a potentially disabling disease.

Thus, a patient with psoriatic arthritis is monitored by two specialists - a dermatologist and a rheumatologist. For greater treatment effectiveness, consultations with doctors of two profiles are necessary.

Patients with psoriasis have the right to establish disability in accordance with Order of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of the Russian Federation dated 27.08.2019 No. 585n.

2021: Nearly 40% of patients with severe psoriasis failed inpatient treatment

According to a study by the interregional charitable public organization "Skin and Allergic Diseases," almost half of the respondents (48%) with skin diseases were unable to get to a specialized doctor and 39% were unable to undergo treatment in a hospital during a pandemic. Over 60% of patients diagnosed with severe, recurrent common psoriasis do not know that they can get a disability, and with it medical care with the use of modern therapy. This was announced on December 6, 2021 by representatives of the organization "Skin and Allergic Diseases."

The majority (93.8%) of patients with severe and moderate psoriasis stated that the treating physician did not refer them for a medical and social examination to consider the issue of attribution of disability due to psoriasis and/or psoriatic arthritis.

According to Olesya Mishina, head of the public organization "Skin and Allergic Diseases," the regulatory regulation of the processes for establishing and extending the status of "disabled" for patients with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, valid for December 2021, does not fully reflect the characteristics of therapy and the course of this disease in accordance with existing practice and clinical recommendations, which leads to restrictions on the rights of citizens to receive the necessary social assistance.
