2023: The total turnover of IT companies in Udmurtia for the year increased by a third and reached 27 billion rubles

The turnover of IT companies in Udmurtia at the end of 2023 increased by 31.4% and reached ₽27 billion. This was announced in the spring of 2024 at a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Republic with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister of Udmurtia Timur Medzhitov and Minister of Digital Development Mikhail Fominov.

The growth of turnover allowed the region to take first place in the Volga Federal District in terms of the growth rate of the IT sector and eighth place in terms of revenue among other regions.

The turnover of IT companies in Udmurtia increased by a third and amounted to 27 billion rubles

In 2023, tax revenues of IT companies of the republic increased by 32% and amounted to more than ₽3,6 billion, with the largest increase in VAT - by 73% to the level of 2022. Personal income tax revenues increased by 30%. The number of companies in the region's IT sector also rose from 877 to 930 for 2023. The average salary in the industry increased by 13.8% and exceeded ₽74 thousand, which allowed Udmurtia to take seventh place among the regions of the Volga Federal District in terms of salaries in the IT sector.

An important area of ​ ​ development was the transition of Udmurtia companies to the creation of domestic software, which allows closing niches previously occupied by foreign products. In the register of software Ministry of Digital Development Russia for 2023, 56 copyright holders from Udmurtia are registered, having released 111 software products. Among the leading companies in the region stand out "Directive," "Elma," "65Aps," "High Technologies Center," NPO "Telecom" and others.

In 2024, one of the key tasks for the IT sector will be the development of innovative projects in all sectors of the republic. To do this, a consulting center is being created on the basis of the Digital Economy ANO, which will provide methodological support to startups, as well as attract grant support. As part of the program, work will also continue to connect sparsely populated points of Udmurtia to the Internet. By the end of 2024, 42 villages and villages of the region will be provided with the Internet.[1]

2024: Growth of tourist flow to 1.7 million people

In mid-January 2025, the head of Udmurtia, Alexander Brechalov, at a session of the State Council of the republic, announced a record number of tourists in 2024, reaching 1.7 million people.

The most popular among the guests of the republic were the retro train "Tchaikovsky-express" and the high-speed motor ship "Meteor," running between Udmurtia and Tatarstan. The average length of stay of tourists was 2.2 days.

The leadership of the region set the task of increasing the duration of tourist stays to 4-5 days and strengthening training for the tourism industry. In December 2023, the national tourist route "Fall in Love with Udmurtia" was launched, which, however, the expert commission recognized as requiring improvement.

Experts have identified a number of problems, including the unsatisfactory condition of roads to tourist sites and an insufficient number of navigation signs. Nevertheless, the tourist flow continues to grow - in 2023 it exceeded 1 million people for the first time, which is 1.5 times more than in 2022.

There are 276 tourist routes and reception programs in the republic, including for independent travelers. The most visited attractions are the Izhevsk Zoo and the P.I. Tchaikovsky Museum in Votkinsk.

The head of Udmurtia, Alexander Brechalov, pointed out the need to further develop the tourist infrastructure and improve the quality of service to increase the duration of guests' stay in the region. The administration plans to improve the transport accessibility of tourist facilities and improve the navigation system.

New tourist routes and programs are being developed in the region aimed at introducing guests to the cultural heritage, natural attractions and national traditions of Udmurtia.[2]
