2018: Russians got three medals

At the World Olympic Games of robots (World Robot Olympiad) which took place from November 16 to November 18, 2018 in the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai Russians won three medals. It was necessary to compete with  very strong rivals from nearly 500  countries.

As the director of pre-university formation of the University Innopolis Alexey Khabibulin told TASS, Russia won three medals in creative category on WRO: a bronze medal in a younger age group (from 7 to 12 years), on gold — in average (from 12 to 19 years) and senior (from 19 to 25 years).

Russians won three medals at the World Olympic Games of robots

The senior group was won by authors of the Stawberry Fields project from St. Petersburg. It is the system of tracking, collecting and sale of easily damaged fruit and berries. 

In an average age group won the Kazan robotics which provided network of the smart warehouses "Lean logistics". The project of citizens of Kazan of Vegetarium (the robotic machine on cultivation of vegetables) took the third place in a younger age group. Also in the main category in an average age group the command from Astrakhan won the special Future innovations nomination for simplicity and elegance of construction of the robot.

In total from Russia 19 commands from Vladivostok, Naberezhnye Chelny, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Kazan, Khimki, Yekaterinburg, Novorossiysk, Innopolis, Tyumen, Nizhny Tagil, Astrakhan and St. Petersburg competed at a competition.

World to the Olympic Games of robots took place in four categories: the main, soccer of robots, student's and creative. In 2018 486 commands from 63 countries participated in a competition.

Alexey Khabibulin says that Russians had very strong rivals.[1]

Most likely, all drew conclusions after last year and trained more. Children solved just mad quantity of problems - something did not go, something broke — he noted.
