"Block-host 4.5" with support for Linux operating systems

The company "Gazinformservice" has issued update 4.5 of the IPS from the NSD "Blokhost-Network 4." This solution will allow organizations to accelerate the transition from foreign operating systems to domestic counterparts, without sacrificing the level of information protection. The key advantage of update 4.5 is support for Linux operating systems: Astra Linux 1.8, Red OS 7.3, Alt 10, which allows organizations to smoothly migrate from Windows infrastructure, minimizing risk and financial costs.

This release supports working with operating systems in any combination on workstations and servers. This ensures the flexibility and adaptability of companies to the requirements of legislation on the transition to domestic software by January 1, 2025.

Convenient user token management in RDP sessions simplifies the organization of access to the infrastructure of contractors and remote employees.

In addition to Linux compatibility, Blokhost 4.5 offers advanced media management features. In particular, the user can remotely request the administrator to temporarily use flash drives. All modern domains are also supported for using user accounts for two-factor authentication - Microsoft AD, FreeIPA, Samba DC, ALD Pro, Red ADM - as well as a full life cycle with certificates issued by Aladdin Enterprise CA, Microsoft CA and DogTag.

On August 13, 2024, Gazinformservice announced the release of the next SZI release from the Blokhost-Network 4 NSD, update 4.4.

Release 4.4 has expanded support for platforms. FSTEC certification is now available for all common operating systems - Windows and Linux, including Astra, Alt, RED OS and ROSA. Advanced capabilities of the media control system, guaranteed on-demand removal, file integrity control, RAM cleaning, discretionary delimitation of file access, a closed spatial environment - all this now also works under Linux.

IPS from NSD Blockhost-Network, update 4.4, also provides the possibility of two-factor authentication using certificates, tokens and smart cards, as well as remote management of tokens by the administrator in RDP sessions. This allows the information security administrator to easily configure access both within the organization for his employees, and for contractors and employees on the remote, noted in Gazinformservie.

An administrator can access the management console from anywhere on the network, regardless of the operating system used.

Improvements affected token and certificate management features, including migration of management from Software Authentication Manager (SAM), redundancy of settings, centralized configuration of two-factor authentication from servers running both Windows and Linux on the same network, and token lifecycle management in the authorization window.
