In the update, the web interface of the subsystem was optimized: the functionality previously available through the console appeared, the user is offered more options for configuring the RED ADM environment.

Through the web interface, you can automatically install domain controllers, update and change basic settings. They also added a separate tab, with which you can check the controller configuration using different levels of logging.

Time server configuration is now available in the GUI. You can set a reference time that will apply to all machines in the domain.

Additional attributes for the user account, such as work phone number, organization, position, avatar. The Logon Allowed Hours attribute allows you to manage the schedule of user access to the workplace.

The administrator can centrally manage local passwords on domain computers and configure their complexity requirements: vary the length, presence of complex characters, and password validity. Settings are made through the local password management module of administrators. The functionality that has appeared is analogous to LAPS from Microsoft Active Directory.

Another one was added to the classic white theme - in a dark performance. The theme is synchronized with the browser and turned on automatically. You can also customize the theme manually through the sidebar.

The Administrator can now control the user's access to any domain object. Through the console of the Directory Service subsystem, you can configure permissions for a user or group of users, including: managing the organizational unit, entering clients into the domain, the ability to create and delete users in a specific group. The functionality is similar to the "Security" tab in the properties of the MS AD domain. In the next release, this functionality will appear in graphic version.

Mass installation of operating systems has received updated capabilities. EDED 1.2 allows you to create templates with installation scripts and assign them to selected groups of devices. For example, you can start an automatic OS installation for users of a particular department and set the automatic execution of operations for additional configuration of each workplace: automatic installation of software, setting the necessary settings and downloading updates.

Installing RED ADM has become easier. If earlier the process required a number of presets in various configuration files, now it is enough to configure the network and execute one command.

In the next version of EDED ADM, support for the MS AD distributed domain will be available. As of August 2024, this functionality is undergoing beta testing.
