2021: Start of exchange-traded investment fund for the space companies
In the middle of January, 2021 the Ark Investment Management investment company announced start of exchange-traded investment fund (ETF) for the space companies. He received the name ARK Space Exploration (ARKX) what the documents filed by the company to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) confirm.
Submission of requests for ETF usually does not cause so impassioned reaction, but news about start of ARKX, considering huge success of the company with such funds as ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK) for $21 billion and his thematic fellows, provoked value addition of stocks of many companies connected with space, including Virgin Galactic and Stable Road Acquisition.
The exchange-traded fund will trace the American and international companies which research space which implement innovations and make changes to products and services in this segment. ARKX will become attractive to those who look for access to opportunities "outside the Earth's surface".
According to Ark Investment Management, this segment includes the companies from four categories: orbital aerospace industry, suborbital aerospace industry, perspective technologies and also space beneficiaries.
ARKX will develop together with such ETF as Procure Space ETF (UFO) which represents global space and defense exchange-traded investment fund for $44 million, and SPDR S&P Kensho Final Frontiers ETF (ROKT) focused on the companies researching space and sea depths.
In January, 2021 Ark Investment Management was included into ten the largest issuers of ETF in many respects thanks to flagman exchange-traded fund Ark Innovation ETF (ARKK), the largest issuer of fund is Tesla.[1]
