History

2023: Former CEO sentenced to 7 years for fraud

The Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow sentenced Alexander Gadalov, ex-general director of the Almatel telecommunications holding, to 7 years in prison. His former subordinate Konstantin Antonevich was sentenced to 4 years. Both were found guilty of fraud in the supply of telecommunications equipment for companies of the Almatel Group of Companies, as well as a scam with bills of exchange of the Telephone 365 company. 2019: The emergence of a controlling owner

On December 23, 2019, the Almatel telecom operator announced the appearance of a controlling owner - DSFK Special Financial Company (DSFK) LLP.

In connection with the emergence of a new main owner and strategic investor, the company received a number of opportunities:

• Almatel's updated development strategy for 2020-21, the main provisions of which are to increase its presence in the V2V and V2S segments, reduce the debt burden, restructure the loan portfolio, and fulfill obligations to partners;
• a credit of trust in the company's top management by the controlling owner and a transparent corporate governance system that meets international standards;
• investment opportunities for their projects - both in the form of equity capital and borrowed funds;
• focus on the following main areas of the company's activities: provision of high-speed Internet access, pay-TV, telephony and additional digital services;
• potential synergy with other DSFK assets, primarily Almatel Kazakhstan JSC (Alma-TV brand).

We intend to use the opportunities for the implementation of the 2020-2021 strategy and the further development of the company, - commented Alexander Gadalov, General Director of Almatel. - We consider the arrival of a fundamental investor as an extremely positive factor, and we are optimistic about the future.

The company will direct its efforts to ensure the growth of the subscriber base, the modernization of networks, the expansion of the range of services provided - both in traditional and new areas for the operator.

2017: The updated brand enters the broadband access market in Moscow

Telecom operator Almatel announced in October the launch of its brand on the broadband access market in Moscow.

According to the publication, the operator expects to attract users who are ready to change the provider if they are not satisfied with its service. According to the company, the share of such potential customers is 30% in the market.
