The launch of the second line of the plant will allow processing gold-containing concentrates regardless of their chemical composition, which strengthens the technological sovereignty of Russia and eliminates the dependence of the domestic gold mining industry on the export of semi-finished products. The new enterprise will process gold-bearing concentrate from the fields of Nezhdaninskoye (Yakutia), Mayskoye (Chukotka Autonomous Okrug), Veduga (Krasnoyarsk Territory) and other objects of the company.
The head of the Ministry of Eastern Development of Russia Alexei Chekunkov noted that Russia is one of the world's largest gold mining countries. In the Far East and the Arctic, 44 gold mining projects are being implemented with a total investment of more than ₽1,5 trillion. 16 thousand jobs have already been created at the new enterprises. According to him, the project implemented by Polymetal with the support of the state will strengthen the country's technological sovereignty, increase the volume of precious metal production, provide decent paid jobs and give additional tax revenues to the budget.
With the launch of the second line, the total production at the Amur Hydrometallurgical Plant will increase to 25-30 tons of gold per year compared to the current 12-15 tons. The company was the first in Russia to process gold-bearing ores of double persistence.[1]
