2021: Purchase of T-Mobile Netherlands for €5.1 billion

In early September 2021, Tele2 and Deutsche Telekom agreed to sell T-Mobile Netherlands to Apax Partners and Warburg Pincus. The value of the transaction amounted to €5.1 billion. More details here.

2017: Purchase of Syneron Candela for $400 million

On July 17, 2017, it became known about the closure of the deal announced in April of the same year for the purchase of Syneron Candela by the investment company Apax Partners for about $400 million.[1]

As a result of the deal, under the terms of which Apax Partners paid $11 for each Syneron share, the latter was transformed into a closed private company. Syneron securities since June 17, 2017 have been removed from the Nasdaq Stock Market stock exchange, and the company has been removed from the quotation list of the trading platform.

In addition, as part of the takeover, Apax Partners appointed Geoffrey Crouse as CEO and board member of Syneron.

2016: Sale of Epicor Software to KKR Fund for $3.3 billion

In early July 2016, it became known about the sale of Epicor Software for several billion dollars. The manufacturer of corporate software remained in the hands of private investors.

According to Bloomberg, the private investment fund Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) buys Epicor from the Apax Partners fund. Although the companies did not announce the cost of the transaction, the publication knows that we are talking about $3.3 billion.

The same amount is called the sources of The Wall Street Journal (WSJ). According to them, Apax's investment in Epicor paid off in more than four times. Apax bought Epicor for $976 million in 2011.

The WSJ recalls that Apax wanted to sell Epicor back in 2014, but then investors changed their minds and rejected offers worth about $3 billion.

It is planned to complete all formalities related to the sale of Epicor to KKR in August 2016. The transaction must first be approved by the relevant regulators.

The parties to the transaction did not disclose its terms. KKR's financial advisers as part of this acquisition are Morgan Stanley & Co. and RBC Capital Markets. Epicor is advised by BofA Merrill Lynch and UBS Investment Bank.

In 2015, Apax acquired 100% in the Spanish real estate website idealista.com.

2011: Purchase Epicor and merge it with Activant

After buying out Epicor, Apax merged this developer with another Activant Solutions software manufacturer. Apax paid $976 million for Epicor. Details of the privately owned Activant deal were not disclosed. The total amount of two purchases amounted to about $2 billion. In total, Activant and Epicor have about 30 thousand customers and a turnover of $825 million. The combined corporation was called Epicor Software, it was not planned to issue its shares in circulation.

Subsequently, Epicor changed managers and separated the division offering solutions for specialized retail chains.
