Archives Committee of the Orenburg Region

The Committee on Archives of the Orenburg Region is an executive body of the Orenburg Region and is part of the system of executive bodies of the Orenburg Region. The Committee carries out state management of archival affairs in the region, as well as control over the preservation, collection and use of documents of the Archive Fund of the Orenburg Region and other archival documents.

As of May 2022, the main tasks of the committee are:

• implementation of state policy in the field of archival affairs in the territory of the Orenburg region;
• organizing and ensuring the formation, preservation and use of the Archive Fund of the Orenburg Region;
• development and improvement of archival business, observance of uniform principles of organization of collection, storage, recording and use of documents of the Archive Fund of the Orenburg region and other archival documents;
• coordination of activities of subordinate state archives and their functioning;
• ensuring compliance with the legislation of the Russian Federation and the legislation of the Orenburg region on archival affairs in the region.
