2023: Regional Ministries Websites Down for 2 Days
On July 3, 2023, the official websites of the ministries of the Orenburg region and some municipalities of the region were unavailable. Failures in the operation of these resources continue for two days.
The presence of problems was confirmed by the Ministry of Digital Development of the Orenburg Region. It is said that when trying to appeal to the sites of the regional Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Digital Industry, the Ministry of Natural Resources and other departments, the answer "The Service is not available" is issued. In addition, the Internet resources of Orenburg, Orsk, Guy, etc. do not work.
It is reported that the accident is related to the failure of equipment in the data processing center of the government of the Orenburg region. The failure turned out to be so serious that it required restoring the portals from a backup copy. Taking into account the fact that these sites are centralized and are a voluminous information system, it took more time to solve the problem than expected. The specialists of the State Treasury Institution "Center for Information Technologies of the Orenburg Region" (GKU "CIT") are engaged in eliminating the consequences of the failure.
We apologize for the temporary unavailability of the authorities portals. Specialists of GKU "CIT" carry out work to restore the service after an accident. Other services, as well as the Government portal, are operating normally, the notification of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Orenburg Region says. |
The department emphasizes that users can interact with authorities through official pages on the social network Vkontakte"" (marked "State Organization"). According to available information, we are DDoS not talking about an attack on the websites of ministries. Whether it was embedded IT infrastructure in any malicious (software for example, a ransomware) is not specified.[1]
