Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia

On May 27, 2017, in Moscow, at the First Congress of the Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia, the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations "Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia" was established. The Congress was attended by more than 2,500 representatives from 67 countries of the continent.

The establishment of the Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia is one of the most important realized tasks of our time, the need to solve which is dictated by time.

As President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin noted in his annual Address to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on December 1, 2016: "The priority of Russia's foreign policy was and remains the further deepening of cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, cooperation with other CIS states. Of serious interest is the Russian idea of ​ ​ forming a multilevel integration model in Eurasia - a large Eurasian partnership. "

In order to form an integration model of a large Eurasian partnership at the public level, expand and deepen contacts between peoples, an Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia was created, in addition to the development of political interaction, transport, logistics, trade and financial ties between the countries of Eurasia.

Aware of the role of civil society and popular diplomacy in the development and strengthening of integration on the Eurasian continent, creating a solid foundation for the future of the peoples of the most populous region of the planet, the Congress participants called the creation of the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations "Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia" one of the promising forms of implementation of the social integration model.

In accordance with the Charter of the organization - the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations "Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia" is a corporate non-profit organization in the organizational and legal form "union," created on the basis of the common interests of the members of the Assembly to achieve the statutory goals.

The organization's headquarters was formed in Moscow, Russian Federation.

Andrei Yuryevich Belyaninov, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Heritage of Russia Foundation, was elected Secretary General of the Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia.

The Co-Chairs of the General Council of the Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia elected representatives of Russia, Asia and Europe:

• Igor Halevinsky - Chairman of the Council of the Association of Russian Diplomats.
• Bernard Loze is vice president of the Franco-Russian Dialogue Association.
• Dalbir Singh is a prominent public and political figure in India.

The Assembly of Peoples of Eurasia is designed to become a platform for uniting the efforts of non-governmental organizations and business communities in the development of integration processes, affirming the ideas of peacemaking and strengthening good-neighbourly and business relations; To further develop the core activities of the established International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations as an important instrument of public diplomacy and to enhance its role in the context of a multipolar world.
