Awesomic is a Ukrainian developer of a platform for connecting companies with proven designers. The service works by subscription: access to graphic designers costs $995, to products - $1495 (by December 2021). Customers receive task status updates daily during the business week.
The startup was founded by Ukrainians Roman Sevastyanov and Anastasia Pavlishina. A year later, the project passed the Y Combinator acceleration program. By December 2021, the company employs 15 people, more than 60 designers cooperate with it, who perform over 500 tasks every month.
History
2021: Raising $2 million
In mid-December 2021, it became known about the investment of $2 million in Awesomic. Business accelerator Y Combinator, funds Flyer One Ventures and SID Venture Partners, investment companies 10x Value Partners and Pretiosum invested in the Ukrainian startup. Business angels Max Ishchenko (DOU, Djinni), Alexander Huda and Andrei Surzhinsky (Restream), Ragnar Sass (Pipedrive) and 28 other investors also took part in the round.
Awesomic intends to use the funds raised to test the growth hypotheses and scale its own design community. In addition, the startup will direct funds to expand the team - hiring people in the grocery and Growth divisions.
Awesomic collaborates with startups at different stages and digital agencies. More than half of customers are in the United States. The rest are in Europe, Canada and other regions.
Platform designers also created art illustrations and merch collections for celebrities such as Jean-Claude Van Damme, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Chuck Norris.
2020: Attracting Investment
In August 2020, Awesomic attracted a pre-seed round from European investors. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed, however, according to the CEO of the company Roman Sevastyanov, the check was six-digit.[1]
