2023: Rebranding

2016: Russian partners become owners of Russian office of BearingPoint under influence of politics

In 2016, the Russian office of BearingPoint (BeringPoint LLC) changed its owner: instead of the Dutch legal entity BearingPoing Holding, BP Partners became it. The founders of the latter, according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, are Russian partners BearingPoint: Konstantin Popov, Alexander Zyuzyukin and Sergey Tkachenko.

One of the partner companies BearingPoint unofficially confirmed to TAdviser that BeringPoint LLC had a change of ownership, and now the Russians own 100% of the Russian office.

Having Russian shareholders, doing business in Russia is more convenient

Olga Safonova, partner and CEO of the Russian office of BearingPoint, told TAdviser that BearingPoint LLC continues to operate in Russia and the CIS under the BearingPoint brand as a legal entity part of the global alliance of BearingPoint companies. The change in the structure of shareholders, according to her, allowed the company to be more flexible in the Russian market, use the benefits provided by the state, avoid the negative impact of sanctions when working with state-owned enterprises, and optimize the cost and cost structure.

From 2014 to June 2016, according to the Contour-Focus database, BearingPoint LLC entered into four state contracts: with MISiS to provide consulting services in the amount of 49.9 million rubles, with the Atomic Energy Industry Complex to expand the functionality of a corporate data warehouse in the amount of about 12 million rubles, with Transneft to create a budget planning and reporting system in the amount of 25.4 million rubles and with Rosatom to integrate SAP SRM and SAP ERP systems in the amount of 29.7 million rubles.

The changes, according to Safonova, do not affect the company's contractual relations with clients and partners, the operating model of BearingPoint LLC remains unchanged, the company retains its tricks in terms of industries and solutions and continues to develop management and IT consulting to further diversify its product portfolio.

In some other international consulting and audit companies, Russian legal entities and individuals also own local subsidiaries, but, unlike BearingPoint, only partially. According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, for example, in Russian legal entities PwC, the Dutch division of the company is a co-owner. The situation is similar in the main legal entity KPMG in Russia - JSC KPMG: almost half of it belongs to the Dutch division of this network of firms.

As of 2016, the company's strategic partners were Microsoft, IBM, Oracle and SAP.

2009: Managers buy out European office of BearingPoint

In August 2009, BearingPoint completed the sale of its European division to the management of the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa)[1]a result, the regional practice was transformed into a private partnership, owned by 120 company leaders in 14 European countries. The transaction value is $69 million. The annual turnover of BearingPoint in EMEA reached €567 million in 2008.

The established partnership, which employs 3250 employees, including 225 in Russia, continues to operate under the BearingPoint brand. Peter Mockler, who has led BearingPoint's EMEA practice since 2006, remains the head of the new company. In Russia, at the time of the transaction, Natalia Krasnoperova continues to lead the company's practice. According to her, the share of the Russian office in the turnover of BearingPoint EMEA at that time was about 7%. "Partnership is the most optimal model for organizing a consulting company," Natalya Krasnoperova said in an interview with CNews. "We are confident that the personal responsibility of management will have a positive impact on the future of our company." She also emphasizes that BearingPoint has European roots, but still operates on a global scale. In Russia, the company's clients are both domestic and international companies.

Since 2007, Natalya Krasnoperova has become the head of Russian practice. She served in this post until April 2015.

2002: Education of BearingPoint LLC

BearingPoint is the successor company to KPMG Consulting, combining the entire consulting practice of KPMG. In early 2002, a separate legal entity was separated from the consulting group of KPMG Russia - KPMG Consulting Rusland, a subsidiary of the former KPMG Consulting AG. Since December 2002, this company has been renamed BeringPoint LLC and belongs to the BearingPoint group (formerly KPMG Consulting).
