History

2021: Walmart bought Botmock

In early November 2021, Walmart announced the acquisition of Botmock. The participants did not disclose the cost of the transaction. Thanks to this purchase, the American retailer plans to set up features so that users can shop in voice and chat.

With its latest solution, Walmart continues to invest in technologies that will allow you to shop with voice and chat. The Botmock service offers an editor with the function, drag and drop, to design chat bot dialogs or voice bot. The system automatically develops code in the background while users design conversation streams. The service also helps you cope with specific challenges associated with a project, such as platform-specific constraints, while facilitating team collaboration.

Botmock supports tools such as Atlassian JIRA, RASA, DialogFlow, Atlassian Confluence, Slack, Zapier, Alexa Skills Kit or IBM Watson. Developed in Botmock, conversations can be displayed on text or voice platforms, including Apple Business Chat, WhatsApp, SMS, Microsoft Teams, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

According to the latest version of the Botmock website, more than 50 thousand people use its tools (by early November 2021). The company also reported its customers in various verticals, including such large companies as Nationwide, Accenture, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Oracle, Viasat, Mercury.ai, Liveperson, BlueRobot,, Avanade and Enbridge. Walmart intends to use Botmock in colloquial commerce, this is an area in which more and more investments are invested first in 2021. Using the Botmock service, Walmart will be able to create natural voice and chat interfaces for both its customers and employees, as well as the platform can answer questions or direct store employees to the location of goods.

According to the Botmock website, the company's team will also join Walmart and work to transition existing customers, helping to transfer their data. Customers of the service will have access to Botmock until December 1, 2021, and as of November 3, 2021, funds for a subscription are returned, the company's official website says.[1]
