History

2021: Raising $50 million

In mid-September 2021, a CodeSignal that helps recruiters of companies such as Facebook, Uber and Zoom select candidates for software development using automated technical assessments raised $50 million as part of the Series C funding round. It was led by Index Ventures with the participation of Menlo Ventures, Headline and A Capital.

Thanks to these cash injections, the San Francisco-based company has all the necessary funds to take advantage of the growing demand for remote hiring tools created specifically for software developers, reports TechCrunch.

There are many problems associated with hiring developers that we help our customers solve by structuring, automating and scaling interviews with developers. This can be both time savings for recruiters and time savings for engineers, reduced bias and increased diversity in hiring. But if I needed to name only one problem, then I would summarize all these problems, and say that we are helping companies become more data-oriented in hiring decisions. We have become very closely integrated into HR Tech's overall ecosystem, adding integration and partnership with most major ATS, HRIS and CRM suppliers, said CodeSignal CEO Tigran Sloyan.

With services from CodeSignal integrated into the recruitment process, companies can automatically send candidates individual tests and assessments to identify the best software engineers, and send the results directly to the recruitment company. CodeSignal also assigns a coding score to all candidates to show how much each candidate meets the industry benchmark. Although this indicator is not a decisive factor in moving to the next stage, it helps to reduce the time required to evaluate candidates in the early stages of the process and eliminate any inherent biases.

After the latest round of funding, CodeSignal announced a host of previously undisclosed customers, including Netflix, Facebook, Roblox, Capital One, Liberty Mutual and Royal Bank of Canada, which helps highlight the demand for remote hiring tools in various industries.[1]
