2020: Ricoh purchased DataVision
At the beginning of September, 2020 Ricoh announced purchase of two system integrators. The Japanese company purchased the German DataVision and the Polish SimplicITy.
DataVision is engaged in sale and implementation of projectors, displays and other audio/video production. The company has 100 employees and 10 sales offices in the territory of Germany. The firm works with the equipment of large producers, including Canon, Epson, Cisco, Microsoft, Samsung and Sharp.
Earlier in 2020 DataVision was recognized by the Microsoft partner of year in the Surface Hub direction. The German company also calls itself one of preferable Microsoft partners in Germany for Teams Rooms Premium, transfers the CRN edition.
The vice president for communication services Ricoh Europe Edward Hamilton says that DataVision will become a springboard for further growth in Europe of division of IT services.
The decision on acquisition of DataVision was based on a number of factors. It includes their leading position in the market, extensive competences and experience and also synergy which we separate with them in terms of the customer base, culture and strategy. This acquisition provides the strong platform for the further growth of the company across the whole Europe and creates a key support in our transformation to become the company, renders digital services. As a part of SimplicITy company which is based in Warsaw there are 38 employees, including 19 technical specialists specializing in data processing centers, a hybrid cloud, networks and services of security (by the beginning of September, 2020).
DataVision and SimplicITy will work as the independent companies in the Ricoh group. The cost of transactions is not disclosed.[1]
