This is despite the fact that the Russian market of MFPs and printers in monetary terms grew by only 4.5% (according to the analytical company ITResearch), and some of its segments, in particular A4-format printers, continued to fall. At the same time, the main growth of Ricoh's business fell on equipment - 46% of the total growth. Sales of Ricoh equipment through distributors rose 37%. The vendor still has six distributors, but their composition has changed somewhat[1]. Along with Resource-Media, CopyLine, A1TIS, MICS, OCS, Staten became the new distributor of Ricoh.
According to IDC, the company's share in the Russian market in 2016 grew to 6.2% (compared to 5.2% in 2015), with Ricoh being the only vendor whose market share has constantly grown over the past five years. The company ranks 6th in the market.
The success of the vendor in Russia was largely due to the large supply of Ricoh equipment to the public sector. Among the largest projects of the year are equipment supplies to the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor's Office of the Chelyabinsk Region, the Administration of St. Petersburg, and the Southern Federal University.
History
2025: Removal of equipment from the list of goods allowed for parallel import into the Russian Federation
The Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed to update the list of goods that can be imported into Russia on parallel imports. From the draft order of the department, published at the end of July 2025, it follows that the Ricoh technique is excluded from the list.
The exclusion of Ricoh electronics from the list of goods allowed for parallel imports to Russia means that now it cannot be imported without the consent of the copyright holder - that is, Ricoh itself. The Ricoh press service clarified to TAdviser that the company continues its activities on the Russian market through its subsidiary RICO Rus LLC.
| The exclusion of our products from the list of parallel imports is the result of the active work of RICO Rus LLC to ensure the supply of original products to the Russian Federation and combat counterfeit. This is the only way RICO Rus LLC can guarantee our customers the reliability and durability of the equipment, the company emphasized. |
They also added that Ricoh equipment, as before, can be purchased from authorized distributors.
At the end of July 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade recalled that the list of goods allowed for parallel imports is adjusted either in connection with the replacement of goods by manufacturers from Russia or friendly countries, or in connection with the start of official deliveries.
| As for the addition of items to the list, this happens for the point provision of consumers and industrial enterprises with the necessary products, in this case intended for high-precision measurements, the ministry added.[2] |
