Doc + — the online service of m-Health started in September, 2015 allowing to call the doctor on the house of the pediatrician, therapist, ENT SPECIALIST, neurologist and nurse and also carrying out at home necessary procedures and delivery of a broad spectrum of analyses via the website and the application for smartphones. By the beginning of July, 2016 users of Doc + called the doctor more than 12 thousand times from which 40% of orders fall on repeated calls. The cost of a call of the doctor in Moscow is 2 thousand rubles, in Moscow area — nearly 3 thousand rubles.
2020: Entry into the structure of The Doctor Is Near company
On August 27, 2020 telemedicine services "The Doctor Is Near" and Doc + announced merge. The companies explained this transaction with the aspiration to develop medical services against the background of growth of interest of patients in remote consultations of doctors because of COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
Under the terms of the agreement, Doc + will be a part "The doctor nearby", and founders of the first company will become shareholders of the second. All developments and technologies (including the chat-bot which can communicate with patients, analyze their answers, ask the specifying questions and recommend, what doctor to see and also an AI control system of medical records) will pass in "The doctor nearby", teams of two players will integrate under the leadership of the CEO of the company Denis Shvetsov.
Financial and other commercial conditions of the transaction do not reveal. In particular, it is unknown how shares in the joint business will be distributed.
From the moment of the beginning of work in 2015 by the end of August of the 2020th the Doc company + attracted more than $14.5 million investments. The received means were used for development of a technology platform, the new directions in the field of digital medicine and own solutions on the basis of artificial intelligence.
Consolidation of players will make the telemedicine company by the champion by the number of the involved investments in the market of digital health care of the Russian Federation — reported in The Doctor Is Near company, commenting on the transaction with Doc+. |
The pandemic had to accelerate telemedicine development, but so far in Russia the market is constrained by legislative restrictions. According to the investment manager of Internet Initiatives Development Fund Alexey Grinenko, merge will draw the attention of legislators to the importance of telemedicine services and legalizes a postanova of the diagnosis and purpose of treatment of patients without preliminary internal visit to the doctor. 2019: Doc + closes the only clinic and dismisses personnel
On June 10, 2019 the Doc service + announced closing of the only physical clinic and dismissal of a part of personnel. The company changes business accents, including switches to sale of own technologies in foreign markets.
As told Kommersant with reference to the representative of Doc+, in July, 2019 the company closes b2c-business in Russia and reduces most of salaried employees from among medical staff. Service decided to focus on telemedicine, but not on a call of doctors on the house.
Over time the company was transformed to the developer of technological solutions. In our opinion and according to partners, technologies have high potential in international markets and do not require maintenance of the OS for development — the co-founder and the CEO of the company Ruslan Zaydullin told the edition. |
According to him, + will work at the Russian Doc market on marketplace model for partner clinics and to offer the IT solutions to business. Such solutions of the company include also products on the basis of artificial intelligence among which there are a medical chat-bot and the system of automatic control of medical documentation. Other clinics, insurance companies and the state will be potential clients of Doc +.
Doc + is initial offered only a call of the doctor on the house. For rendering this service service opened physical clinic in Moscow though acceptance in it was not performed. The company refused it.
Baring Vostok (the investor of Doc+) confirmed that shareholders "completely support plans of the company for promotion of IT solutions in which development she invested the last four years".

2018: $9 million from "Yandex" and foreign funds
The telemedicine service Doc + attracted investments for the amount of $9 million, reported the Interfax agency in August, 2018. The existing shareholders invested in service: "Yandex" and Baring Vostok fund and also the new investor - the Swedish fund Vostok New Ventures.
The press service of "Yandex" confirmed the fact of the participation in a new round of investments.

The press service of Doc service + reported that the received investments will be used by the company for further development of a technology platform, testing of the new directions in the field of digital medicine and development of own solutions based on artificial intelligence.
2017
In June, 2017 DOC+ started the telemedical-project integrating online and offline medicine.
2016: Investment of $5.5 million from "Yandex" and Baring Vostok
On July 6, 2016 it became known that Baring Vostok Private Equity Fund and "Yandex" invested in Doc + about $5.5 million. This money will go for marketing, start of service in St. Petersburg and other Russian million-plus cities, expansion of the platform and the number of services, Kommersant with reference to cofounders of service Victor Beloguba and Ruslan Zaydullin writes.
According to them, Baring Vostok acted a lead investor, a controlling stake taking into account the provided options remains at founders.

The press service of "Yandex" noted that the company sees the future in the simple and convenient services providing services in real time.[3]
According to Victor Beloguba, Doc + is going to spend the raised funds for an exit to new regions: start of service in St. Petersburg is planned for fall of 2016, and in two-three years it is going to distribute the project to other large cities of Russia.
Belogub in a conversation with RBC at the beginning of July, 2016 did not exclude that in future Doc + can be absorbed, but so far this issue is not discussed.[4]
