2024: Damate bought Donstar for 1.3 billion rubles
The Damate group of companies, which is the leading producer of turkey meat in Russia, acquired the bankrupt Donstar duck producer in the summer of 2024. The value of the transaction amounted to ₽1,282 billion. It included all the facilities of the complex, infrastructure facilities, vehicles, land plots, equipment and inventory.
According to Interfax, Damate began to engage in the production of duck meat in 2020, signing an agreement on the assignment of claims with Rosselkhozbank on the obligations of Donstar LLC. The company leased the property complex "Donstar" and began to restore production, which at that time was stopped. For several years of operation, Damate managed to restart all the facilities of the complex and ensure a stable production of products.
First Deputy General Director for Economics and Finance of Damate Stanislav Varich said that the acquisition of the complex into ownership will allow the company to develop the asset as a full owner, which will have a positive effect on the further activities of the enterprise. "In the six months of 2024, we increased production by 19%, reaching 8.2 thousand tons in slaughter weight compared to the same period in 2023. Now, having become the owners of the complex, we will be able to develop production even more efficiently, "said Varich.
In 2023, Damate produced 13.7 thousand tons of duck meat, which allowed the company to occupy 45% of this market in Russia. In 2024, the group became the first Russian company to begin exporting ducklings to China.
In addition, the Damate group of companies is actively developing several areas of agribusiness. In addition to the production of turkey meat, the company is engaged in the production of lamb, duck and dairy products.[1]
