2018: Creation of the robot externally not distinguishable from the person

In May, 2018 the robot who externally practically does not differ from the person was provided. Its development which was performed by the British company Engineered Arts is dated for start of the second season of popular series Westworld.

According to developers, during creation of the realistic robot by the name of Fred the most advanced technologies in the field of robotics were used. On writing of the software, creation of a skeleton, silicone skin and eyes acrylic was left by about three months.

Robot Fred externally very similar to the person

Tedroya Newell's person was taken as a basis of a physiognomy of a cyborg. The robot looks as the man caring for the appearance at the age of 55 years. For giving of realness engineers added to the robot the negligence inherent to many ordinary people. The cybernetic product is capable to keep up the conversation on several different subjects, he yawns and blinks.

Newell described the experience from a meeting with the twin robot as "very strange", but in general it was pleasant to it. The humanoid machine was placed in one of the British pubs to look at reaction of people. She was depicted on video which was posted on the Internet.

On the personnel it is visible how lonely Fred sits at a table and addresses visitors. They in turn notice behind it a little strange behavior, but continue to listen to his speeches about superiority of robots over people. In the end Fred pretended that he drank too much alcohol, began to stammer, talk nonsense and even broke a glass.

One of visitors who left bar with the worried look said that "the robot very realistic, very much, actually at some point you forget that it is the machine, but not the person". Despite a realistic mask, the robot after all strange reacts to the speech and movements of other people.[1]
