2023: Restart of LDSP production
On June 6, 2023, in the village of Podberezye, Novgorod Region, a new enterprise for the production of finished furniture was opened at the site, which was previously occupied by the IKEA Industry Novgorod plant. The new company was named "Extrovert." The work of a plant specializing in the production of chip boards has started here.
The restart ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Oleg Bocharov, Governor of the Novgorod Region Andrei Nikitin, General Director of the Slotex Group of Companies Vadim Osipov and General Director of Extrovert Tatyana Solomina.
Initially, IKEA had a chipboard and LDSP factory, as well as a furniture factory that produced frames for wardrobe systems and kitchen furniture. The new owners plan to maintain and expand the company's areas of work.
The first direction remains unchanged - this is the production of chipboard and LDSP. These are b2b products. The chipboard market is quite volatile, prices on it are cyclical: the period of deficit is followed by periods of decline in demand and fall in prices. But in our case, other directions will give additional stability to the business model, - explained the general director of Slotex Vadim Osipov. |
According to the press service, additional investments in the development of the asset with the launch of its own furniture production may amount to 2-3 billion rubles. The launch of the furniture factory is expected during the second half of 2023. During 2023, Extrovert plans to increase the purchase of raw materials to 400,000 cubic meters. m and set up processes at 2/3 of the production capacity. The company plans to reach full production capacity "in the near future," but the exact dates by June 6, 2023 have not been announced.[1]
2006-2009
IKEA Industry Novgorod was built in 2006 near the oldest city of Russia - Veliky Novgorod, which celebrated its 1150th anniversary in 2009. The choice of the construction site of the plant is due to the convenient location between the largest consumers of chipboard in Russia Moscow (550 km) and St. Petersburg (200 km), good railway links, high availability of low-grade wood raw materials, good conditions for investors, as well as the support of the local administration.
